thank you Yoake!
toniayu, as her first World Tour, don't expect a big tour like the ones she's doing nowadays. They would probe how it goes for the first time. As ~aura and I said posts above, something like the Limited TA Tour is enough, if you saw it you'll remember it was very simple (again, compairing it to her present ones).
For those who hasn't seen it, you can watch it here.

It's probably easier to have us approaching avex for a multi-artist event over just seeing Ayu.

I've spoken to someone in there about the possibility of an artist coming overseas and the expenses will be high, so their main concern (as it would be for any business) is the money output won't match what people pay to see her. avex does not promote overseas because they can't see the point (they won't even let people put up avex artist posters for promotion!), so why would they go and spend a few hundred-thousand sending just one of their artists?

Because we all buy her CDs because we found out about her on the net or through other artists, avex doesn't see the point in spending big to promote a foreign artist when they don't even have posters in overseas stores or give permission to show PVs for free promotion?

I think the best way to get this happening is to have 6-7 avex acts travelling together to various cities, then having a mini-concert each versus trying to convince avex to send Ayu on her own. Having multiple acts together guarantees avex more interest because some will go to see the multiple acts , thus the attendance rate will be higher.

There's a Korean music thing happening in Sydney, Australia on Nov 11 and I intend on being there. Perhaps it'll be a good chance to see what the power of multiple acts is and if it's well-managed Good testing ground, so to speak!

When Utada played LA, she sold out, and by sold out, I mean only around 700 people went. That's tiny, TINY. Even for something like a very stripped down T.A. tour or something, it wouldn't be worthwhile for avex. When she did her T.A. tour, she played large halls like Zepp Tokyo with a capacity of like 2000. Also, Utada wasn't doing her tour for profit. She was probably spending more than she earned from the tour. It was just for fun. I doubt that's something avex prioritizes.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a T.A. like show featuring Ayu. I didn't get to meet her when she came to L.A. However, I just don't think she will be doing an independent concert, or a world tour at that. I think the best shot fans have for a worldwide tour would be to request Ayu for Anime conventions. I know there's a huge one in France that's a big deal.

Also remember that while Ayu or other Jpop artists may be arguably more accomplished (in terms of sales, success, records, ect) than Korean artists, worldwide, Korean artists are more exposed. You just can't reasonably expect a huge Jpop world tour like the ones Kpop has.

yes many of you are right! I'm certain that Avex will be not interested. Because there will be a huge money in it. I don't want to force Ayu to do it so we just gather some informations, see ourselves. You know there will be some pool and after we'll find out that there are so few people and everyone can attend in different city.
We'll try to make it true and why not? Ayu'll after know about it but I think it'll be really difficult.

I'm talking to my bf, he's a webmaster and designer and he told me he can do the poll site ъ(`ー゜) but for that we still have to advance a bit more on research.
Guys, if we don't believe on this ourselves, how we mean Avex to do so?
kendelle precisely because Avex doesn't promotes outside Asia, it should catch their attention if we're a big number demanding a world tour. On the other hand, the multi artist show is a nice idea too, but imagine then the work we should do. We'll had to contact other big forums dedicated to other Avex artists and so. Yet we shouldn't discard the idea
Polyrhythm's anime convention suggestion is cool too.
Keep providing ideas!

Huge isn't the word I would use. When you have 10 of your a-list artists and only two concert to cover the whole Europe it's not so hard to attract so many fans. If avex actually wanted to bring a-nation to Europe it would be a different story.

Ayu won't be able to gather over 300 000 people to see her concerts in Japan forever. It's really just the matter of time when less and less people will be willing to pay to see her live and sooner or later she'll consider giving her international fans a chance to see her live.

As I said with her band (without dancers) and no props it's not going to cost that much really and if many visual kei bands have the resources to do it so can Ayu, even though the profits won't be high.

I dont know if the mods want to give this much importance, but I would like to make a design contest for this project, something like they did with A WORLD is ONE fanbook. Any ideas on how to do this?

Of course we can't expect to see Ayu in every single city we live, I think we may think to only big and better organized places like France and Germany (where every year there are a lot of Japanese concerts, even if the most are visual kei bands .__.)

It's not easy at all but I think we still should try, because nothing will ever happen if nobody even try!

Count me in of course! And if I can help I'm here
I also have an Italian site about Ayu so I can spam the project there and collect other fans ^_*

Ok, I was about to write how much I don't want an "Ayu World Tour" to happen, but eventually after reading those 6 pages of comments I realized that it was really egoistic of me to think this way. I mean I go to Shanghai every year, I'll be 18 next year so I won't have any problem to reach HK, Fukuoka, Tokyo, etc from Shanghai because it's not expensive and quite easy, but I realized that all of you international Ayu fans don't have my chance, and can't attend to a concert as easily as me. And if you love Ayu as I do, you must want so desperately to see her performing in person. I was rejecting this idea from the very start when I heard about it, but after reading all of your comments I will definitely support.
I'm one of those Asian fans that think that which is Asian belongs to Asia and mustn't export itself to western countries. I hated when BoA released her US album, and hated when SMTOWN went to Paris. Of course I attended eventually (because I must admit that it would've been a pity to miss it, moreover it's so close to where I live). The whole show was great, but those 'international fans'. omg, so ridiculous. I was so disgusted, it was really RIDICULOUS. And I don't want this to happen with Ayu, I mean when I see those fancams made by French people who went to see her in 2008 at her hotel, and commenting in French 'Oh mon Dieu elle est trop belle regarde elle est trop belle' I just can't do anything but that face : .

Well I don't think I can compare Ayu fans with k-pop boys/girlsband fans, I'll support your work anyway. Good luck.

PS : I don't think it will be easy, because I don't think Ayu & her staff would be content with just 1000-1500 tickets shows... But SMTOWN came to Paris because a fangroup on facebook caught SME's attention so go ahead.

I get not wanting Western nations to appropriate what was homegrown. That said, I really hope there's some other context I'm missing (what's with the scare quotes around "international fans?"), because otherwise this just reads as really hateful--especially mocking that French fan for being excited to finally meet his/her idol. This is an international fan forum, after all; why someone would join a forum full of people who essentially disgust them is a mystery to me.

I am glad that you brought up SM Town Paris; I didn't know the tour went to Paris based on a Facebook group. Maybe we can use SM Town's previous stops as a model (with some added dates--one in New York, please.); after the AyuWorldTour twitter/facebook gets a significant number of followers, maybe we could encourage people to group themselves according to which date they would attend? Of course, that requires an additional step to possibly lose people in.

If she held a concert in the USA, I would totally go no matter the city! I can't afford the full cost to fly to Japan but I want the chance to see one of her grand performances. One concern that I have is that potential language barrier. Would international venues want to invest in a Japanese language artist? On a side note, if she had a concert in the US, it would be cool to meet AHS forum members and fellow Ayu fans for the event

tbh - I don't even know myself. I do admit it is really hateful from me, and also very egoistic, but I just can't - this feeling is just stronger than me. I knew what I wrote wouldn't be well received from people here, but as I said, I think that Ayu is asian and belongs to Asia, that's why she shouldn't try to export herself to the western side of the globe. I just gave that French fan as an example, I know there's nothing bad about him but I just couldn't react another way. Anyway if she comes here I'd just ignore the people around me. / It's quite hard for me to speak my mind bc my english is quite limited and I'm scared it sounds racist or sth like that - which might actually be the case.

Well if you do the maths I think Ayu could perform in a venue such as Le Zénith in Paris (6500 tickets or so). Really. I mean there were a looooot of people at SMTOWN that weren't even the public aimed who came, they saw on internet / newspaper / whatever that there is a concert of Korean pop music, they attended the show probably expecting something cultural as if they attended a concert of Chinese or Japanese traditional music. And there were also Asian people who hadn't even heard about those bands. And believe or not you actually hear about Ayu often when you talk to people. I often wanted to introduce an Ayu song to some friends, and they often replied that they already know hear. I'm pretty sure that at least 5000 tickets can be sold if enough people see on magazines, newspaper or TV/ internet the announcement of "Japanese Impress of Pop Ayumi Hamasaki is coming for an exceptional concert in Paris". Much more people than you think would be attracted.

btw I also heard that Ayu might have an official facebook page soon ? It would be a great way to spread that World Tour idea !
