Sure, I can do that this weekend. I am extremely excited about next years Taiga still. Everyday I try to check on news updates. I have understood that they will begin filming really soon too. Perhaps around September/October. Edit: Apparently, already this month.

New Astalift CM to air nationwide from September 1st. They have this time replaced Miyuki Nakajima with Kyoko Koizumi (45).

My Special Love～特別な恋人～ (Tokubetsu na Koibito)

Release date: 2011/11/23 (same date as Cherish concert tour is out on DVD). Tracklist and cover jacket not yet available.

Lyrics, music and produced by Mariya Takeuchi. It is to be noted that its the first time since 1985 that Seiko has used another female songwriter for her music. ボーイの季節 (Boy no Kisetsu) released 1985/05/09 was written by Amii Ozaki.

It’s been revealed that singer Matsuda Seiko (49) will be collaborating with singer-songwriter Takeuchi Mariya (56) for the first time!

This collaboration will be for Matsuda’s new single, “Tokubetsu na Koibito“, which will be released on November 23rd. As April 2010 marked the 30th year anniversary of Matsuda’s career, she approached Takeuchi for a collaboration. Takeuchi will be providing the lyrics, composition, and production for the song.

The two started working together in July of last year, when Takeuchi visited Matsuda at her 30th anniversary live at Nippon Budokan. After the show, the two met backstage, and immediately hit it off. Takeuchi, who has already reached her 30th anniversary back in November 2008, gifted Matsuda a mature love song in celebration of her anniversary.

Takeuchi explained, “I wrote this ‘mature love song’ with all my heart, as something I want the current Seiko-san to sing. I feel that the root of her abundant expressiveness is the combination of her voice and personality within her mysterious charm.” She also showed her confidence saying, “Seiko-san’s charming candy voice will surely deliver a new thrill to everyone.”

Meanwhile, Matsuda expressed, “It’s a beautiful song overflowing with Mariya-san’s unique outlook of the world. When I sang it during the recording, my heart was full.”

This will be Matsuda’s first time in 26 years to have a female artist provide lyrics and a melody for her single. To coincide with this new release, Matsuda will hold her annual Christmas dinner show starting November 22nd, with a total of 27 performances in 12 locations. She is also scheduled to hold a New Year’s Eve live at Tokyo Gymnasium.

In other news, it has been rumored that Seiko will return to Kouhaku Uta Gassen this year. After 10 years of absence!
No longer mere a rumor because she has been listed in the Kouhaku prediction on Yahoo Japan News.

If she does go then it will be her 16th appearance ('80-'88, '94-'96 & '99-'01).

Yeah, since she will act in the 2012 NHK Taiga Drama, chances are the prediction will come true. It's NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen after all. Actually ever since her role in the Taiga was announced there has been Kouhaku rumors floating around. If not this year then definitely in 2012. She has declined quite a few invitations in the past because of the Count Down Live Party scheduled in the same evening. Wonder if 2011 will be any different.

But we will know for sure in a months time or so. That is when NHK publishes the line-up of artists.

There are almost none tickets left to Seiko's X'mas Dinner Show. Most shows are already sold out.
I find it amazing how she always manages to hold these annually since 1992. The ticket fee is outrageous*.

She is the queen when it comes to X'mas Dinner Shows. None other artist is this expensive.

Indeed. It has always been expensive. For example, you had to pull out ¥45,000 for a ticket back in 1995 too. Price has stayed the same pretty much. At least she is not doing Spring Dinner Shows at a regular basis. She held one of those 10 years ago, ticket fee same as X'mas.

Yeah, the places are expensive as usual. I'm not surprise as it's the same thing every year.
But a dinner like that should be amazing. I don't know in your country, but I never find that kind of show (even with musicians who are not famous) where I live.

I just read that ToshI of X JAPAN held a dinner show this January. Full ticket cost for the most expensive seat was ¥100,000 (per person including meal and show). Compared to that Seiko is a bargain.

There is speculation about the coupling song title. One person claims it to be 声だけ聞かせて (Koe Dake Kikasete).
While others are secretly wishing for Oricion #1 for the first time in 15 years. No, but seriously that won't happen, close to if not a top 10 position would be more realistic.

There is nothing like that over here either. I don't know about other Asian or countries worldwide, but it might be a Japan only thing. Must be a great experience to "have dinner" with your favorite singer. Seiko doesn't use social media such as Twitter or blogging to interact with her fans. But despite all that I think she is really close. Having Dinner Shows and special Fan Meetings etc.

Full 声だけ聞かせて (Koe Dake Kikasete) song was broadcast on Anata to Happy radio show this morning. Here is a download link. Turned out the speculation about the title was correct, it was actually only announced yesterday. But the source knew about it well in advance.

I still want to mention about the X'mas Dinner Show. Seiko's are very popular and a good business. I've read reports that they cash in ¥100,000,000 in just three days (23, 24 and 25) of Christmas. Consider the fact that she does it for 17 days and this is the 19th consecutive year. It's not like she should have any money problems. The same article also mentioned how she has been able to build a new fanbase of the newer generation and that the "Seiko scandal" image is no more. As well as further speculation on Kouhaku appearance, "PR for the upcoming Taiga drama".

Regarding the upcoming single and Oricon. It will be tough for a good position. aiko, EXILE, French Kiss (AKB48), ikimono-gakari, Momoiro Clover Z, Porno Graffitti among more are releasing on the same day. Not exactly the most ideal date.
