Nearly all of my favorite Ayu songs are ballads so I really wouldn't mind a ballad filled release... Except I wish she'd stop the midtempo ballad **** like progress/blossom and the completely hollow and artificial songs like beloved and Sweet Season.

You know I wouldn't mind a ballad or two because we have gotten a lot but not any GREAT ones (in my opinion anyway). I have grown to like MOON and I totally love November and I enjoy the sounds of Sweet Season (which really is just more mid-tempo)... But I hate Virgin Road. I hated You were... Sunset is boring. I grew to like BALLAD. I really like BRILLANTE. But... It's been so long since there was a ballad I absolutely LOVED. One that HITS YOU HARD!

^That's what I mean. I think she's done some absolutely amazing music in the past couple years, but I just think that in the abundance of midtempo songs and ballads it's just crumbled.

I'm glad that in at least every album the past couple years there's at least one song that sinks in deep for me.

I think thats also why i wouldnt mind a ballad filled album, because yes she's released a lot of ballads recently but apart from November, Virgin Road, BALLAD, and BRILLANTE they've all been mid temp, sunset, meaning of love, moon, crossroad, sweet season, beloved, why... (even though its like an r&b ballad) I just want more grandiose and beautiful ones like VR and BRILLANTE (i know we just got it but i can never get enough!) or something sad and heartbreaking like Jewel or Hanabi, XP though i do like her midtermp/rockballads too many of them really gets overwhelming XP

I don't even remember what beloved sounds like, but I don't think Sweet Season is an artificial and hollow song. It's a relaxing tune, granted not everyone will like it, but I've grown to appreciate it.

NOT hoping for a 1st Jan release date, that is just ayu fans dreaming. She doesn't need to rush this one at all, no concert tour dates that this has to be ready for let alone it being way too soon for the stage she seems to be at. She'll go back to Japan and record more tracks that will make up the album. I'm thinking a Feb/March release date, and a new tour in April/May. Gives her heaps of time to perfect the album before announcing tour plans.

A full on electro dance album would be awesome. How people think NL is an electronic album, I'll never understand. It just has elements on only some of the songs, like anything else.

^No, but that's not what I'm even saying. I said that many refer to NL as an electro album when it's... not. lol Elements yeah, but not as a whole.

The only album I think of that was all the way consistent with a specific style is I am..., but if anything it was completely thematic. Maybe A Song for xx, all being... soft pop rock-ish?

Well for an Ayu album I would say electronic influence is a pretty consistent theme throughout the entire album, and moreso than any other of her albums. Take away Days, Green (which came out before she probably decided the album's direction) and Rule (for a soundtrack), most of the upbeat album tracks had electronic influence as well as the interludes. Where it was electronic however, it was just as much rock and pop as well.

So whether it was a "full out" electronic album, well no. It was more of her signature rock-influenced-pop sound + electronic influences meshed together. Sparkle was the only track where she came close to an all-out electronic song, and the guitars are for the most part toned down (except for in the verses where you can hear a riff).

Since then we've had sexy little things, Sunrise and Last Angel, and if TK is producing I hope he creates something just as awesome. One of my favourite Ayu songs. If she starts creating generic western electropop-sounding music, I will be disappointed. But with the producers she is working with I doubt that will happen.

if she will include some ballads, i hope they are like GREEN or BALLAD (both are epic, IMO), and not slow or midtempo ballads

No need to add "western" in there. Plenty of non-Western generic electropop music :S

I don't care what the new album sounds like, FIVE wasn't my cup of tea, so anything new from Ayu will be good for me.

So true, and disappointing. If they had just took out some songs and used the electro remixes of songs like Rule and Days, it could have been a damn good, consistent album. Instead it just falls flat on its face. And NL the song isn't electro at all either. In fact, it's the worst song on the album, and definitely her worst title track of all time.

But about this new album; it better be a hell of a lot better than the **** stain that was FIVE. I swear to god, I'm STILL disappointed about it. Love songs wasn't much better. Please Ayu, get better or take a break, because you aren't impressing me at all lately

It sucks, but I agree about FIVE. I LOVE BRILLANTE, progress is great, beloved is forgettable, and the collabs are horrible. :/

Talk about exaggerating... FIVE wasn't that bad...
