that's actually not HD, it's just a very clear up-scale. They probably used the original footage instead of just up-scaling the old video. Even 720p would look better (clearer).

No, you completely misunderstood the whole point of my post.
If you steal a physical copy of something it is gone, the person you take it from loses something. It's stealing if you get it while someone else loses it(may it the physical copy or money). When downloading you get a copy, the owner of the original(avex in this case) only loses something if you otherwise would have bought it, however if you don't have enough money you wouldn't have bought it -> aves doesn't lose anything -> you do not steal. You copy. It's obviously not legal but calling it stealing is plain wrong. Nobody is hurt in that scenario, nobody loses anything.

That said, like I pointed out in my original post, I do NOT support piracy overall. I do not support it if you do it because you don't want to pay. I support it if you don't have enough money to pay since no one is harmed that way.

Someone earning a few hundred dollars a month while having to pay rent and stuff can't easily afford the clip box, he would NOT buy it either way, him downloading it would not be stealing and it would not harm anyone.
While someone with a well-paid job who has enough money and simply doesn't want to pay if he can download it for free does steal since he otherwise(if downloading was not possible) would have probably bought it.

That's the difference. If someone loses something(be it the physical copy or money) it is stealing. However that is not always the case for downloading and that's the important thing about it.

There is no logical argument that something harming noone is immoral. Unfortunately big parts of our society are ****ed up enough from centuries of religion to believe that things that do not harm anyone can be "wrong" by default without thinking about it themselves.

The HK version of this DVD BOX is much more cheaper than (for example) alan's latest concert on DVD, lol. I hope in the future they can do Blu-ray versions.

I think what "isthisLOL?" is saying is that no one gets hurt when the person doing the copying wouldn't have bought it anyway. I'll admit copying something is a bit different from stealing a physical copy (like a CD). What it is is intellectual property theft. Once someone has a copy of something, there is less of a need (with the exception of collectors) for that person to obtain a legally purchased copy. The IP on the disc is devalued.

Someone earlier in the thread brought up the anime industry, which has now shrunk to practically nothing in the U.S. because so many fans moved to free downloads. You can say anime was too expensive, you can say the companies were too slow to react to a changing market, but you can't say it didn't have a pretty major impact.

ANYWAY, my blu-ray box arrived today, so I look forward to checking it out this weekend! I didn't buy the previous clip collection or her more recent CD releases so this wasn't an unnecessary double dip for me.

Also, for the person who asked, the overseas version DVD will probably not be playable in a European player unless the player is region-free and can handle NTSC video. The DVD will be region 3 locked.

I loved watching all the TV-CM, there were at least 10 I've never seen before, and the quality is quite good, now just waiting for the PVs.

Honestly. Avex barely put any money or time into this... it really is something for the fans. PV's/music videos/what ever you want to call them are almost free domain.
What is the difference from catching one of the videos on MTV or whatever the japanese watch to get their music fix and DVDr'ing it and keeping or watching it on YouTube to downloading it for your own personal collection?
Nothing... its just another way to get the "info" that you want

Blah... anyways... i watch poker face and some of the other videos in HD and they look pretty good... cant wait to watch some of the newer ones.

You have to know your copyright laws... In most countries it is not illegal to download, but illegal to redistribute for profit.
In fact if you live in Canada, Spain, Panama, or the Netherlands you can download any music as long as it is not sold in that country.

As for Japan... artistic works located in public places can be reproduced freely by photograph, film, etc... which is not very limited and can include PV's/Music videos.

So in fact download music video's and PV's is legal... may not be moral or support the artist, but the PV is just that, a promotion video and nothing more. It is meant to promote something, not meant to make money for someone.

As for the videos.. Got to watch Evolution, LOVE it.

I was stating it to you due to me seeing you are from Orlando, which (unless I'm mistaking it for another one) is in the USA, where what I said was correct. (Not talking about it anymore, promise!)

Most people only have one bluray players while many people have several devices that can play CDs, they can watch the bluray on their TV and the CD can be used everywhere else in the house and their car. And if someone else uses the blruay player or TV you wouldn't be able to play the album. It's just a more possiblities thing since having music solely on bluray can be very limiting in households with more than one person.
