AN AMEIZING NIGHT WITH A-MEI

The Pop Diva entertained 9,000 concertgoers with her well-loved ballads and catchy dance tunes

There was never a dull moment felt at Taiwanese Pop Diva A-Mei's (also known as Zhang Hui Mei) first concert night in Singapore for her AMeiZING World Tour 2012.

Kicking off her concert with an electrifying start, A-Mei, who was decked in a modern-take of her aboriginal costume with wind-swept curls, easily commanded the attention of 9,000 concertgoers with her undeniable stage presence. From 'Ri Chu', 'Gei Wo Gan Jue', to 'High High High', the stadium was roused and excited by her catchy opening dance tunes.
Looking fiercely sophisticated in a silver sequined dress draped with hot pink tassels, which is her second outfit for the night, the 39-year-old singer could barely contain her excitement to be back in Singapore and her first words, "Is it because we're close to each other or are your voices just naturally loud?" elicited fervent screams from her fans.

For someone who has chalked up almost 20 years of experience in showbiz (she had her debut in 1996), A-Mei's dance tunes and emotional love ballads accompanied most now-adults-then-teenagers through their adolescent years, and might have even at one point or another, soothed the broken hearts of many lovelorns.

"Time-traveling" back to different stages of her life with a selection of three ballads, A-Mei transformed the Singapore Indoor Stadium into a twinkling starry sky when she requested for all concertgoers to wave their illuminated phones as she crooned to 'Diao Le'.

A-Mei, who appeared to be overwhelmed with emotions by the outpouring support and love from the audience, was then left speechless and further impressed when the stadium effortlessly performed the first stanza of 'Yuan Lai Ni She Me Dou Bu Xiang Yao' on her behalf.

When it was time for her alter-ego, Amit (her Puyuma aboriginal name), to takeover, the fierce performer got everyone standing and grooving to songs like 'Kai Men Jian Shan', and 'You Dan Ni Jiu Lai'.

In-between her performances, the Taiwanese singer enjoyed some cheeky banter with a handful of enthusiastic fans who consistently hollered her name throughout the night's concert. Clearly enjoying her moment on stage, the spontaneous singer even broke into a short performance of Justin Bieber's 'Baby' and Teresa Tseng's 'Tian Mi Mi'.

After challenging herself to a non-stop 40-minute long medley of ballads that best described the ups and downs in her music career, A-Mei upped the ante and closed her concert with a mini dance party that had everyone shuffling away at their seats to songs like 'Bad Boy', 'Huo' and 'Wo Yao Fei'.

AMeiZING? Definitely.

I liked it but it doesnt have 'repeat' quality, I got bored of it very quickly and I like Sherman so much, she was my favorite until August Girl by Fiona didnt occupy me.
