I'm happy to see an official announcement from Meisa. While the statements were professional, Jin's comment makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. It appears as though they aren't really ready to make this big commitment and are doing it solely for the child and not particularly for love (I know they didn't address the child in their statements but I do not believe they would be getting married at this time if she wasn't pregnant). While I understand that this is a common occurrence under these circumstances, I would hope her story turned out like Kuu's (even though she's getting married shortly after becoming pregnant, she seems like she's really in love and they have been dating for awhile although we didn't know, lol. I'm not getting these vibes from Meisa.) Despite this, I'm happy to see that they both want to work hard on their new lives together and I wish them a successful marriage and a happy, healthy baby. Anyways, with this news being released so shortly before the release of her album, I'm really curious about how well "UNLOCKED" is going to sell and how it will perform on the charts. It seems that it's bringing a lot of attention to her but I'm unsure if it's good or bad.

Even though they're similar situations, I'm not taking Meisa's announcement too well compared to Kumi's.

At least with Kumi, she had 10 years of music behind her before she started her family. 10 years is enough of a legacy if she ultimately decides to retire but it's also a very good reason to come back.

Meisa's only been releasing music regularly since 2009. That short amount of time coupled with the fact that she hasn't really flourished on the charts makes me think it'll be a lot easier for her to quit music because she'll be dealing with the demands of a new marriage and baby. In that situation, I think something would have to give, and since she's known mostly as an actress, I get the feeling that's what she'll focus on when she eventually comes back.

It's really sad, and I hope I'm wrong, but I already cancelled my preorder for "UNLOCKED".

I remembered the time when Takuya Kimura announced he was getting married since his case was also a shotrun marriage , it was CRAZY

I remembered when this took place , he had to hold a press conference to announce this & it's obvious his's a shotgun marriage . His wife was supposedly a former beauty queen or something like that

I think his wife shunned away the spotlight after marrying him

morale of the story's that getting married to a Johnny's , it takes a lot of erm guts ? xD you have to face rabid crazy stans on a regular basis & given Akanishi's status with his fans/stans in the fandom ... hoo boy X.X

I agree with all of the points you've made. I'm sorry to hear that you decided to cancel your preorder though. I preordered my copy at CDJapan and ended up combining it with an item that doesn't come out until a later date to delay the shipment. While I like the previews, I would like to hear the songs in full before purchasing the album while still securing a copy to make sure I get the first press bonus if I decide to keep it. She's not an artist that I consider myself a full fledged fan of (I've enjoyed all of her singles though) so I'm hoping the whole album leaks soon so I can make my decision on whether to go through with my purchase or not.

His wife is ex-80s/90s idol Shizuka Kudo, one of the former Queens of the 80s. (and one of my fave artists ever). She's mostly famous as a singer-songwriter (her big hit was Kindan no Telepathy which the likes of Nana Katase covered, if that helps people remember) and has had a very prolific career in her own right, and they're still married, and although she doesn't really do much anymore she's also a talented painter. /Shizuka stan. (lol sorry, not attacking you, I just really love her and try to promote her as more than just Kimutaku's wife

BACK ON TOPIC (XD), I hope the best for them, but odds are a divorced will be announced right after the baby is born. Just hope her career can stay afloat and Meisa doesn't have to give up any of her dreams.
