Shibuya wasn't prepared for the amount of people that showed up and then they didn't move after she came. Then they all followed her to Tower Records, which is actually pretty far from 109, and the roads/sidewalks were extremely crowded and stuff.

I believe she then said (or was rumored to have said/whatever) that she can go anywhere she wants, or something like that?

IIRC, that's kind of how it went. I think it came down to her managers not filing the proper paperwork and such.

I recently reread an interview where she went to a convenience store a while back because she thought it would be safe to and well.... it turned ugly fast. I don't think she's ever going to go out in public without her entourage in Japan ever again.
