she looks fierce but just that...i don't understand the horse scene at all, i don't think she is the one who riding the horse, because we can't see her face...

the song is nice, a bit repetitive..overall it's just OK..

"SIGNS OF LIFE" from Suite Chic's "WHEN POP HITS THE FAN" album is all in English, and the song "LOOKING FOR YOU" from her "break the rules" album is also all in English

You could say that this is her first "modern" song that's all in English though

It's possible that she may be making more of an effort to cross over. After all, Yeah-Oh was also predominately English and her Facebook page is pretty geared towards foreigners.

But it might not necessarily mean anything either because she has had all English and nearly all English songs in the past. When she was working with Dallas Austin in the early 2000s it resulted in a number of predominately English songs.

The director of this video was Thomas Kloss who had worked for Lady Gaga in 'BAD ROMANCE' MV & Britney for 'Circus' MV.

FYI, he's actually a professional photographer not really a director, so I'm totally pleased & happy with what we got in the MV.

Every time u pause the video u'll got a beautiful picture frame, and that's what make it special. Who need more than 2 outfits in a video??? Who need Boys n Butts in the video??? For me, simple is the best!

I am so happy with ONLY YOU's video.

For one, it was so refreshing to see her by herself. I've grown tired of videos with so much going on in them, and I miss the simplicity that a lot of videos used to have. Both in the west and in Japan. (I'm one of the people who think Daybreak is a great video... haha) It also wasn't over dramatic. And it does what it needs to do and doesn't try too hard.

The imagery is beautiful. And so is Namie! So excited for the album.

Only it kinda sounds like one...cause the melody is so familiar, and then with how low she sings in the verses...but, guess not.

It's kinda growing on me. It's just "one of these" songs. Like, I can imagine so many people doing this song here in the states, and it being a hit mainstream pop song.

PV is gorgeous...but its kinda like "look how pretty I am in this weird place"

you mean just the way you are right? I think both song has the same chorus. I agree that the song is a bit repetitive, but it's alright, i think the song is really gorgeous and so the PV

Namie looks so contrived in the Music Video. Especially the close up shots of her playing with her face trying to appear happy when you can tell that smile is hurting muscles in her face that she's never used before.

The video is boring to death with NOTHING going on and so is the song.

Compared to this, "Love Story"'s Music Video is Action Packed. Eff the horse.

lol, what? I didn't find her smiling scenes contrived looking at all. Often times I would agree with you that a video with nothing going on can be quite boring. But NOT if it is shot well, which this video is. The framing, cinematography, lighting, etc is all top notch. The song also is very laid back, so having more going on would probably be overkill imo.

I am also one of those people that thinks Daybreak is a great video.

I don't know if it's only that song...it seems like a bunch of songs got together and had this song lol But I think it's more the low register of her voice that makes it seem more like a cover.

The PV IS gorgeous...but my tolerance for these kinds of PVs is always going up and down.

I dunno if the credits for ONLY YOU have already been revealed in this thread but yesterday we (me and my friend who writes a j-pop blog in swedish) got a mail from Mr. Christian Fast who saw that wewrote about the song and he gave us the credits for it. It's made by three swedish writers and one american.

We got a new mail from him. He tells us that he also wrote the song IN THE SPOTLIGHT (TOKYO) together with swedish Henrik Nordenback that will be one Namies upcoming album. (The both of them also wrote Dilly Dally for AFTERSCHOOL).
