^Western music doesn't sell very well in Japan, at least, not as well as Japanese music... The best selling english album in Japan is Hikki's Exodus, released on a time Hikki used to have the best selling album of the year everytime she showed... (On that year, she had it with her Single Collection)
And Namie never had a big break, she was just really unpopular for some time, but she never ceased releasing albums, singles or touring...
