But, as I also stated, she was growing bigger for a while when the best actually happened... |

I disagree about not many people knowing about her also. She gained a lot of notoriety with oversea j-pop fans thanks to inuyasha and at the time j-urban had a huge fandom in the oversea japanese music scene and she was at the helm of that. Last edited by Mr. Goto; 6th July 2012 at 01:02 AM. |

Namie Amuro still doesn't have an International fan base the size of Ayu's or Hikki's nor do more people know who she is outside Japan, just take a look at the number of their last.fm listeners for instance. I don't think J-urban has ever actually had a big fan base around the world. I mean I discovered her in 2005 and tbh I didn't think she was that great compared to the other two as her music back at the time (Style, Queen of Hip Hop) sounded way too American for my taste and I was into completely different stuff. So I pretty much agree that her International fan base started getting bigger with QoHH and PLAY and that before that not many people actually gave a damn about her.

The fact that Namie is popular with her type of music...is really something.

What is her type of music? Something that is more popular than Ayu's style, which Japan is not much in favor of these days...?

Pretty much. Though I've never really thought she belonged to the j-urban crowd.
