I don't think she has a contract with Gainax. In Sakura Nagashi's official website it's said that the staff of the new Eva movie begged Hikki to make a new song and that she did it because she's a fan os the franchise. I don't think she would let her staff state that they begged if it wasn't true

I don't know, haha Some of her hardcore fan told me that, but maybe I'm wrong and misunderstood it. It could be some kind of promising not a contract, and she's so kind to doing it.
