I doubt that those songs are plagiarized. I bet the rights were sold to various artists for different countries.

LOL just watched it and couldn't stop laughing for some reason. The music sounds funny and the PV itself is just hilarious. And the guy looks like an alien.

ayu all the way, but the guy wasn't that bad. i mean the sound was different than ayu so maybe that's why they listed a different composer? i don't know. i don't think people are THAT stupid to rip off a song completely because of the lawsuits galore, however perhaps copyright laws are different in asia than elsewhere.

I hate it when they copy Ayu's songs. That's definitely one of those things why I can't even listen to C-Pop. :/

^ sad because there's a lot of good Cpop...
By good, I mean the people that don't copy Ayu (which is a lot cause not a lot of famous artists truly copied Ayu...)

But when Kumi did "this aint a love song" and it turned out afterwards to be a cover of a Romanian(?) song, Koda Kumi and Steve lee were listed as composers. Do they do things differently in regards to covers in East Asia or do they just not care? I would think that the rights to the songs were simply sold but if alot of these Chinese or Thai artists aren't famous, who is going to buy a copyright for them?

It pissed me off to find out S.H.E cover Ayu songs just now!!! Their version sounds sick and their video gets some similar scenes and theme from Ayu album as well. I did like SHE a lot in the past despite their reputation of covering song. I think they just cover US song, which sounds fine to me coz I prefer chinese version and their voice somehow. But this cover of Ayu is unacceptable. My favorable feeling to them is soured now =.=.

After the release of the Reaching for the Stars soundtrack in 2005, there were accusations on Internet forums stating that the song "Star Light" sounded suspiciously similar to Ayumi Hamasaki's "About You". In response, S.H.E declared that "Star Light" and "About You" were completely different, and did not even sound similar to each other.[92]

how shameful...it s 100% the same with a slower melody, weaker voice ( I am not their antifan, I used to like them, sadly). And the PV is similar as well. Hate it!! If this is done by an unknown C-pop singer, i may not feel this bad =.=

Based on the fact that Steve Lee is a Western name, I'm assuming he just sold the rights to Kuu and the Romanian(?) artist. Like Ayu and tell me why.

Isn't Ayu pretty famous in China? So it would be obvious if someone plagiarized her song as opposed to covered it

I find it funny that they got some of Ayu most happy sounding tracks, almost child like happy and tried applying heavy instrumentals to it! xD The result is almost comic.

Being fair with the singers, unless they are known to compose their own melodies or something, usually is the songwriters/producers plagiaring, not the singers.

The SHE song... it have some similarities with About you, but I don't think it's similar enough to call it a copy...
