I totally enjoyed and miss YFC stuff, watching Gackt on tour dvds I always thought he's so self centered and supercilious but seeing him live flirting with fans and maintaining eye contact I had the time of my life, totally prefer him this way.

i enjoyed the first round of YFC lives... when he got the band with Jon, i wasn't too impressed with their music, it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. However the lives were different, he didn't have a 50,000 people watching and had no fancy stuff going on, so all the concerts were more like LIVE performances, than SHOWS. Which i think was a nice thing, for sure.

I can't believe I missed seeing him live. I found out that he was performing in stockholm the very day before the concert. If i just had known a bit before I would so have gone.

well if you don't really follow him missing that stuff is easy. i bet it was like totally a dissapointment to know he's having a live there and not going to experience it...*pats*

^i have a feeling lots of people kinda lost interest when he sort of stopped experimenting with the sound and settled down with what he's comfortable with/and in.

I really use to love Gackt but haven't really been able to listen to him lately. I lost a lot of interest when he did the YFC thing.

Ah. Well everyone's got different tastes...

I liked what he did with YFC. I think he brought Jon in because he had been saying something about his throat so it was probably not to strain too much. Acting wise lately he wasn't too bad either.

Then there's having his own sake...Which is interesting. I wonder if people who've tried it liked it.

True except for Ghost which is absolutely awesome but I felt like he nailed his creativity's coffin shutbwith it. I just find his music really predictable now. He used to be very original and creative. Sad

^it is predictible, A LOT. but i don't think it's because he's not creative anymore, i think it's becaue now he's just doing what he feels comfortable doing. Like he said he found a style he's comfortable with, in other words he found HIMSELF in terms of music style he was looking for, finally. He simply as i mentioned stopped with experimentations. It's not bad but even for me, i mean i am still a huge fan, and i like quite a few recent tracks but now his songs sound like every other j-rock song i have heard. When he was looking for his sound he used to put a lot of unusual things into his arrangements, like for example random spanish guitar part and that other "instrument" that spanish music likes a lot, in Lu:na or waltz rythm that reminds you of a circus in Illness Illusion, now it's usually just beautiful, dramatic orchestra-meets-rock stuff with some exception to some japanese traditional sounding songs. Same goes for his voice, he barelly uses falsetto now which also used to add a lot of originality and color into the tracks.

I mean it does get a little borring. but his music is doing quite good in charts even now, so i guess it just depends on people that are listening to him.

Ever since Gackt moved to avex he has been giving ... not so great music.
It is CERTAINLY NOT BAD. But compared to what he used to be, it's going downhill.
I mean...... ! White Eyes, Lust for Blood, Mind Forest, Storm, Road, Redempion, Vanilla, Birdcage, Jesus, Death Wish, Asrun Dream, Oasis, Mirror, ILLNESS ILLUSION, Freesia, Dears, Lu:na, speed master, missing, rain, flower, blue lagoon, my fathers day, marmelade, seki-ray, secret garden, papa lapped a pap lopped, longing etc.. Oh god I could go on forever about how many great songs he has behind him, how magical sounds he used to make.
Gackt never sold well like the big artists, but theres a reason EVERYONE in Japan knows who he is.

Returner REDEMPTION and longing had continuity and connection musically at least for me
And I also miss him, i havent been listening to him a lot since Episode 0.
Thank heavens he sang that song live in Budapest and my GOD to see GACKT live was a dream come true.
I have tried all those new singles after Ep 0, and i am glad that he is still making music but i could not connect with those songs

^lol and photoshop cuz to me it looks like a good GACKT cosplayer not he himself xD but seriously speaking his photoshoots are usualy over te top with light on his face, it looks litaraly white like paper...

I saw him in person 1,5 year ago and he was handsome as hell and I wouldn't tell he needs any photoshop (except for his pores) but now when I look at his new photos and the drama I was watching recently, Akumu-chan, he looked so old and different there, his head was so big.

Photoshop only makes his skin better, he has huge pores in real life, but I guess it's the style that makes him look better, the blond YFC short hair made him look younger, the black wavy drama hair makes him look old IMO, ...as well as the other drama moustache... omg, no more of those.

I stopped listening to him for a year or so, but recently I've been getting back into him. For me, nothing can be ever eclipse Returner.
