I believe him. His blog (based on the few posts I read) doesn't really focus on J-Pop, and most of his readers probably haven't even heard of Kuu. It just seems futile to lie about this when you consider his readership.

If it is true, I find it hilarious that Kuu carries a few copies of her single around with her!
I wonder if she was going to give it to a relative/friend and thought, "Oh hell, they can get one anytime," Or if she planned to give whoever she spoke to a copy in advance? ^_^
