If you could reinvent the "Inspire" PV?

It seems a lot of fans here didn't care for the PV for Inspire. I've heard a lot of comments like it didn't fit the song at all. While I don't think it was horrible, I agree that the song's PV had a lot more potential.

So.... if you had a say in the creation of the video, what would your version be like?

While Ayu's a grown woman and can do what she wants, I just can't totally imagine her dancing like she did in the video. In my mind, I can't equate Ayu to Britney, yet recently with this video, it seems like I can (note: I don't mean it in some exact form. I just mean the overall essense of her). I read the comments in the Inspire discussion threads and I know that in some form or another, dance can be somewhat provacative, even if it's not meant to be sexual. The whole beach scene in the PV wasn't my fav. It was just the way she danced that kinda bugged me, so I'd change that. I'm still confused by the hummer at the end of the PV, so a regular limo would do it for me if I could reinvent the PV.

Change the camera filter, or whatever they used to get rid of that horrible golden shade during the entire desert shot.

And sack the make-up artist and get another one, wash off the eyeliner and redo her hair.

When I saw the single cover, I thought "Surreal". Something that really irks me is when videos, promotional material and music for a song are inconsistent. She should have gone with the same look and hairstyle as the CD cover.

As for the dancing bit, it didn't bother me as much as some other fans, but I can understand why people may have found it to be awkward. From my own perspective at least, Ayumi isn't a sex symbol. She has more of an innocent, child-like aura if anything. So if someone like Britney Spears did that routine, people may be annoyed or roll their eyes, but it wouldn't be surprising. Whereas with Ayumi you don't expect that sort of thing from her, which will result in mixed reactions.

I dont know, you can still be sexy but not full blown. Bjork is kind of like that. All these people are like "that little girl can have this huge voice" ...it was getting annoying hearing it. But she still does, semi hot stuff =\ you know what I mean? Im kind of into people being sexy.

If I could redo the video...Id have ayumi flying the limo hummer into a black hole, and singing with the dancers in the back, and then she blows up a dancing cyborg factory. With a song like inspire you dont need to be serious, its not memorial address.

This is a good idea for a thread. Personally I dont have any ideas... maybe for her not to wear red lipstick ever again, and I didnt like those nails or the hummer-limo at the end... take out all that and I'm satisfied

Get rid of the horrid costumes, stick to the asian dancing and get rid of the stupid looking western wannabe dance moves (no it doesn't look ****y, it just looks stupid) and make the enviroments more surreal

Hmm... maybe scrap the whole PV's idea. Just have Ayu performing 'INSPIRE' live on stage while they also show scenes while rehearsing for the performance. Ayu just performing wearing a short-sleeved shirt, denim pants, heels, and no make-up. And there'd be dancing of course, but we'll leave that to a minimum. That would be awesome. XD

Oh well in order for people to like it it would have to have what was missing:

-The damn caucasian boys that feature in ALL of her PVs (well almost all. There was just japanese people in the PV so my guess is people disliked it because the little blonde, blue-eyed freaks were fired this time.)
-A statue. Ayu would have to be a statue in the whole video, not move one finger orr arm because it can be considered obscene
-Put 200 layer of astronaut clothes. That's how ayu looks better right? this way there's no way she'll show even a little bit of skin. It's better that way because she will have no chances of being compared to Britney.
-Ayu with that sorrowful/angry/"I want to kill you"/ayupan face (kinda like the one in the WHATEVER video because ayu can't show happiness in her videos it's just too much for her fans
- It could have some dancing though. The Trauma dance!!! Yes ayu can only dance if it is in a pathetical way as if she's teaching a bunch of pre-school children. ^~*KAWAII*~^
-No other people other than the caucasian boys in the PV. ayu is the one and only star, no one needs other freaks blurring her goddess image in the screens.
-Put a very intricated storyline of a girl who is being hold in a mental hospital because she's completely nuts and starts having the weirdest allucinations of finding a key in the middle of a field of skulls and opening doors in the middle of the desert that leads her to a cosmic world of despair.

Oh well that's how the PV would probably have been accepted.

haha that reminds me of a combo of Free & Easy, Moments and Voyage ^.^

hmm here's what I would've done:
-keep the intro
-keep the part of the guys bringing Ayu and those chicks through the desert, the whole India/Thai theme
-have the guys bring Ayu to a palace, make her work as a servant, keep her with that long red dress and claws
-show Ayu trying to escape the palace
-have an evil queen show up, and crack a whip at her, make Ayu get knocked to the ground and go unconscious
-Ayu awakes to find herself in the desert alone, she looks around her and sees a bunch of skeletons, and oddly these skeletons seem to be hugging skulls of other skeletons to their chest
-she looks around, and tries to run away, but for some reason it looks like she's going in circles
-have Ayu trip over one skeleton, she hits the ground hard, and opens her eyes, and we see she's looking directly at a skull. She smiles at it, and picks up the skull, hugging it to her chest. She then lies down, closing her eyes, accepting her fate.
-show Ayu back in LA, passed out on the ground, ambulances show up and guys come out with a stretcher. They proceed to put her onto a stretcher, and cover her with a black blanket.
-final scene: Ayu's hand falls out of the stretcher, and she's carrying a skull with her.

I'd get rid of the make-up artist and dump the red dress/dancing in waves/pop tart scene, and use more of the nighttime scenes instead.

I'd change the hair >O< it was horrible! Was that toothpaste in her hair lol. And I thought the dance during the instrumental break was dumb and boring, the one where there are rows of people, like a choir stand. Other than that, the PV was perfect!!
