Haruto was born in 1998, so he's 15 now, isn't he? I bet he's happy with his glamorous life. :'3

I know im probably the only one (given that the hype around her is huge right now), but lately I started losing interest in Namie. It looks like she lost all of the passion and heart in her songs. Yes, some of them are great, but most of the time they are Western pop singer rejects. I have been following Namie since she released Say the Word, and i have always enjoyed the western feeling of Namieエs music. But lately i donエt know, but i feel like she has nothing new to offer. And i think that FEEL is a good album, its just that I can imagine 30 western pop singers singing those songs, I see absolutely no personality in it. Its great that she is still popular and sells like crazy, but I would love it if she experimented a little bit more with her music, like she did after PLAY.

^ You and I must be on completely different pages. I feel like she is experimenting a lot already. Everything after BEST FICTION were experimental. FEEL is just where Namie is the most comfortable. This Namie is loud and proud. I like it. Pop Namie > Hip-Pop Namie.

Idk what else she can do...the only thing she hasn't tackled is Screamo. nothx

I feel you. FEEL is perfectly fine, it's a good album, nothing to say: but that's why I said I feel she didn't master the mainstream EDM pop yet. She managed nice, but it's different from making it completely yours. But I think she's going there too, she just needs time, and I guess she's having a great time trying! Her experimenting began with Uncontrolled, so she has all the time improving and putting her spark in this style as well.

This so much.

Personally, I love the direction of her current music, I think she sounds fearless and fierce and confident.

In some of her past songs, she seemed a little unconfident in her ability to pull it off, but once her 20th anniversary hit I feel like she realized she's a bad bitch and can do anything she wants, and it's really coming through in her music and even her PVs.

Was I the only one that noticed her little 'bitch I own this' looks in the music video for Hands On Me?

maybe it's because I'm not much of a fan, so I don't feel any impact, but Namie has the best songs for running and working out.

I don't really like BALLERINA though... it's a hot mess in terms of arrangement, like all over the place.. surprisingly worse than Ayu's Tell All

it's just one of those songs (she has many of those) where I would never listen fully on a bus/train trip but the beat is way too hot so you can blindly listen to it and run or work out. that's one thing I appreciate a lot about her songs - you don't have to think much or feel anything... you just feel the beat and think "wow hot song!"

I agree with NintendoHTF1242 & Not Fade Way, i think she's experimenting a great deal right now. Ballerina might be mainstream, but it's much more in your face and dare i say abstract than anything on the radio right now. FEEL is just her having fun, delivering great and catchy pop songs for us to dance and bop her head to. If you're looking for more than that then it's understandable, but one of the reasons i love Namie is cause of how well she sells this genre of music, it's so effortless and enjoyable.

NotFadeAway@ She owned entire Japan in that video, shit was about to go down the moment she walked in that yellow dress

Btw everyone, I made a cover for how i'd imagine/or want a double A-Side release of Ballerina & Neonlight Lipstick to look like!

If anyone's interested <3

To add to the discussion we're having over multiple social platforms...

I just don't understand how anyone who is crying over how westernized her album is, could have been a fan since Style. You can't even GET more generically westernized than uh, the majority of her songs after she left the 90s lol

But I just love the sides of her we got to see in FEEL. That's why it's great.

It's good that so many are enjoying her new releases, but I'm just sad I'm not included in this group, I really don't like the direction her music is taking But she likes to innovate herself, so I'm hopping she'll soon change again and won't continue with this uninspired music style (imo) she's releasing now...

True, her songs have been sounding westernized for a really long time, but they never sounded this much generic pop as they do now, and that's personally what I don't enjoy about them. Most of her new songs sound uninspired, and that's what makes me think FEEL is really weak and kind of boring to listen to... My opinion of course.

Namie has always had a similar style to western female singers. She's always done what was popular in the west
