5 Ayu Songs You Used to Detest

As per thread (I must be so bored), list 5 songs you used to hate so much but love them now.. reasoning would be nice!

1. GUILTY

I used to hate it when it was first released but recently I've begun to appreciate the raw darkness of this song & how really nice the arrangement is (compared especially the rest of the album)

2. In The Corner

(miss)understood was such a good album that this unique track got ignored by me and I thought it was boring at first. since 2009 when she performed it though, I've liked it a lot more & it's one of the songs I never skip anymore

3. MOON

When the single was first released I thought how boring this trash is but everything changed when the Love songs album came out. I really appreciate it now

4. Far away

I didn't like it initially cos it felt really boring and draggy and the intro was a little off-putting but it's a grower, not a shower (lol).. lovely arrangement and lyrics.

5. Bold & Delicious

I suspect this would be on almost everyone's lists... I was a little meh about it at first especially because it can be really annoying but her lives for it have always been fabulous and recently it's a song that makes me feel F.I.E.R.C.E

1. I Am..
The acapella intro always gave me headaches, but i've come to appreciate it's raw vulnerability.

2. GUILTY
Still surprised at how boring and uninteresting i found this song at first as it perfectly sums up why GUILTY is my favorite album of Ayu's, i guess the fact that i didn't listen to it for over 2 years was a reason behind it.

3. NEVER EVER
Again, screechy, loud and off putting vocals was what made me hate this song. Not to mention the weird instrumental, but i learned to love it and the nature of the song.

4. Like A Doll
Wouldn't say that i detested it, and i wouldn't say that i love it now but it's definitely growed on me a lot! I guess it's the way she's singing that i didn't like? I'm not sure, it just never really clicked for me until recently.

5. Pride
Without a doubt a song i never thought i would like back then, it was and is still sometimes way too theatrical and dramatic to me. But it's so unique in her discography and her vocals are really powerful overall.

1. Bold & Delicious
I agree, this song is bound to pop up a lot. In my case, it was just... too weird at first. But after some listens, the energy of the song won me over big time.

2. beloved
I think this song is still just grey mass in the sea of Ayu's ballads for many people. That's how it used to be for me too, but when I started actually listening to the song, I realized how pretty the melody is and how sweet and happy Ayu sounds, and the song actually stuck with me and made me come back.

3. Ivy
This song was badly overshadowed by the other songs on again when I first heard it. It took some time, but it started growing on me and I started appreciating the arrangement, the beautiful melody, and how the song grows bigger.

4. RAINBOW
The transition from the soothing, ethereal first half of the song to the more upbeat second half used to annoy the crap out of me. However, over some repeated listens, I started appreciating the second half of the song more as well, and while I still don't really like the second half or the song's progression that much, I can forgive the song because it still delivers.

5. WE WISH
This song is a really recent new favourite of mine. I think I found this song too in-your-face back when I was getting to know Ayu's discography, and the chorus used to annoy me a lot. I think the new CDL helped me rediscover this song and nowadays I really like it.

1.) CAROLS
-I think a few members know how much I used to hate this song till one day I sat down and actually "listened" to it. It's a beautiful, majestic song!

2.) You were...
-I used to absolutely hate this song LOL because I thought it was really annoying and overshadowed by BALLAD!

3.) Party queen
-Oh goodness. I remember the first time listening to this album and absolutely hating it. Especially the title track. But as with CAROLS, I sat down and listened to it and fell in love with the title track and the album as a whole!

4.) Truama
-I used to think this song was really annoying.

5.) progress
-I used to think this song had no substance lol! But I love it now.

Days
I always thought this song was so boring and generic that make me cringe every time I listen to it. Now I like it somehow. Still think it's one her worst ballads, though.

I used to think this song was a bland copy of fairyland and feeling upset since the single cover was absolutely gorgeous and perfect. Now I just want to partying with Ayu on a yatch too :[

I was soo annoyed by this song lol. It's cute because it make me think of her para-para dance.

Same as for Days, but now I think it's a sweet song.

The song I can remember most is Days.

I was sort of tired of ayu's music back then, so I thought the song was quite boring and unoriginal (i was also sick of shuya). After my stupid feelings went away, the song became one of my favorites!

Bold and Delicious isn't on my list because I still don't like it.

5 songs I hated, but now like and listen to:
walking proud (I thought it was boring and uninteresting until I saw the amazing video for it. The calm remix made me love it too)
Days (I got used to it)
NEXT LEVEL (I think I was disappointed rather than disliking of the song. After seeing the album covers and remembering Sparkle when it first came out, and the 8-bit remix of Days, and thinking that the title "next level" is very video game sounding I had high high hopes. I was very frustrated finding out that it was a typical sounding upbeat piano driven ballad-ish song)
untitled ~for her~ (I thought it was very boring. seeing it performed lived with English subs really made me appreciate the song and now it's one of my favorite ballads.)
Far away (I always loved this song but chose to not listen to it specifically for that annoying as fuck background looped sound. I can't describe it, but anyone who has heard the song knows what I'm talking about. I decided I wasn't going to let that discourage me though)
