^completely agree! i've been listening to her singles a lot lately, and she had some great tracks. its too bad that she just kind of slipped away, but MASCARA was not a very good album, and her singles weren't getting much attention.
before she debuted, there was talk from within avex that she had the potential to be the next koda kumi or ayumi hamasaki. looking back, i believe that if they had pushed her to do certain types of music, she was likeable enough to be a decently big act. i would have loved if they had kept her on the path of Tabibito and Hyaku Renka (particularly the tribal version), and forged ahead with folk tinged pop. that is what my soul wants, and she couldve made it accessible to the masses.
*goes to cry in a dark corner singing "naite naite naku dake naite..."
