I kinda did too. Sure, Avex has brought us many good items over the years (I won't say "all", since I have been disappointed in several of their releases), but if she did go to a new record label, she probably could've tried out more things and had more freedom. With Ayu being perhaps the largest figure of Max's (now false) company, she could've perhaps been much bigger than she was at Avex and might've released larger singles again.

You guys ever think this was a way for Max to get whatever it was he wanted? That's a very effective way to do it. Leave, make the company realize how much they have to lose if you do, it significantly increases the amount of power you have in a company.

A stunt, yeah, but a stunt in the way of negotiation, not for publicity.

All I got to say is that he must have been given a HUGE bundle of money. After all, if artists such as Ayu, EXILE, hitomi, etc would've come to his new "company", he could have garnered a lot of money. I'm kind of surprised that he didn't take the risk to make a new company with all those artist. I mean, they would've gave him a LOT of money...

I was kind of hoping that Ayu would've went to his new company. After all, we know how Avex pressures her to do stuff she doesnt want to. If she had went to the new company, she might have had more freedom, but all now we can do is speculate...

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS HORRIBLE! I really wanted them to start on their own. If avex died but the best artists like ayu go to a new label if would be the end of the avex compitition and the beginning of a new career. It could mean that ayu was more popular and succesful than ever before.

That's what I thought. Maybe this has more to do with Ayu than we thought.
Much as I'd love to see Ayu given more freedom, Japan is a land of extremes- artists who leave their record labels often have difficulty getting anyone else to hire them (although this probably wouldn't apply to artists of Ayu's calibre).
Either way, I'm glad it's all sorted out. Those were a tense 48 hours.

Thank goodness Max Matsuura is back in Avex! Wow, at least that means that the other artistes won't be leaving with him as well. Gosh, we can see now that the artistes are really on good ties with their producers! Seriously, I think they are really really attached to each other.
