A more apt comparison with Story is something like momentum due to the H/\Lness. The guitar solo brings me to walking proud a bit.

I don't think people should be 'called out' or w/e for hearing what they hear though.

I find it sounds absolutely nothing like the original by comparison.

Everyone has different ways that they perceive the songs and generally you never agree with anything anyone says regarding comparisons.

I really like Story, idk it just hits to the right spots haha, and I have to say I get some walking proud (which is my favorite song from Ayu) vibes from it (only a good thing). Not saying it's anyway superior, but still a great song

I'm not trying to call anyone out, I'm just making an observation that any time a comparison is made to one of my favorite songs, I can't hear the reference at all. Maybe because all the things I love about that particular song, after having analyzed them and got lost within them over and over again, are not present within the songs that they are being compared to. I guess I'm just confused and baffled as to how such comparisons arise? When I'm so familiar with the songs being referenced to the point that in my dreams I can hear the intricacies as if I were listening to them on the clearest pair of headphones in a state of consciousness.

I definitely heard SEVEN DAY WAR in Out of control, AND call and Letter, but I dislike these songs. I hear meaning of Love in Story, but I really dislike meaning of Love. I don't think I've ever heard remnants of my favorite songs by Ayu in any other work of hers, although I do generally like songs that can be classified within the same group (No way to say, Days, momentum / Microphone, talkin' 2 myself, About you, etc.). I personally do not hear the SEVEN DAYS WAR thing in Out of control but at the same time I never listen to Ayu songs with the mindset of "What is this similar to?" and treat them as isolated tracks unless it's EXTREMELY OBVIOUS. I should add that I don't really listen to SEVEN DAYS WAR all that much either so that could have to do with it even though I like that song live and on the single/album.

The first line of the prechorus is melodically similar to the prechorus in SEVEN DAYS WAR iirc. It's not obvious enough that I would've picked it up if I hadn't seen other people saying it, though (at least since I kind of tune out Out of control lol)

I don't know if anyone really listens with the mindset of classifying the tracks according to previous releases. I also don't go out of my way to listen to SEVEN DAYS WAR but just from it continuing to play from the Love songs album (?) I know the melody. It literally uses a portion of the same notes in the same order.

One thing I'd like to note about NO FUTURE. People have said it is reminiscent of the Love songs album, which I do sense. But the thing I love about NO FUTURE is how it succeeded in taking the song "to the next level." All of Love songs, as much as I love the album now, always felt like every single chorus was on the verge of exploding into a higher chorus. Like it was just on the precipice of having a full on chorus, a resolution in the music, but it kind of just loops and keeps you hanging. The first time I listened to NO FUTURE, I expected it to follow the same pattern, because if it were Love songs track, the chorus would be from 1:15 to 1:29. So when to my surprised it continued, and delivered on the energy factor at 1:44, I was floored. I felt ayu has suffered that fate with many of TKs works, the feeling that the chorus is more of a "prechorus", so you're left hanging, like the progression hasn't resolved or something. I think that's why I cried during NO FUTURE, cause she didn't leave me hanging this time and I fully expected her to.

NO FUTURE's twist at the end was amazing. It gave the song an extra UMPH. I find Komuro tends to have great build up that leads to nothing typically. I'm surprised a lot of the tracks he did were not like that this time around.

I guess I just don't remember SEVEN DAYS WAR all that well and it's probably for the better.
