HYNA - The First Thread

She apologizes to her fans for causing them to worry. August last year she was told that all her music activities would be put on hold. All her events and concerts were canceled and she wasn't allowed to post on her blog, twitter, facebook and mixi.

She apologizes for not being able to contact her fans sooner.
Her company didn't inform the fans either. To her, that felt like betrayal to her fans whom had always supported her. It made her feel heartbroken every single day.

And then her company suddenly posted messages on her homepage and blog. She has many objections to the content of those messages, but she wants to refrain from fighting in this post.

To her, as someone who wanted to become a singer since she was 9, these past months were torture. Not being able to talk and share her music with her fans was the most torturous.

She apologizes again.

She says she didn't violate her contract. She knows and trusts that her fans won't believe her company's words without getting any explanation from Hyna herself first.

What saved her these past months were the kind messages of her fans. She thanks them.

She asks her fans to please pray for the day she can perform in front of them again.

She thanks everyone again.

I feel so bad for her. I hope things will work out soon.

I listened to TARATIKA again today after almost 3 years, and tried to search for HYNA again. On google, I couldn't find anything past 2011. So I went on her facebook page and found this sad post:

Today, June 21st, is my birthday here.

People who know that I've been singing for all my life maybe are wondering what am I doing or if I've given up on my dream or career, but that's not right at all!

Everyday I sing and there is no day in which I don't do voice training.

My dream is everlasting and everyday I'm dreaming about it.

Of course, I've never forgotten my fan's faces who have supported me and my friend's faces who have come to my concerts even for a moment.

I'm living everyday thinking that I wanna see you guys.

Almost two years have passed since I have gotten away from the stage.

During these times, I have met many people who are playing active roles in their fields other than music.

Even though I only have music and can't sing songs now , even so,
the reason that I could spend unforgettable moments which became lifetime memories was because of the people who were by my side, who made me smile and who were waiting to hear my songs.

And though it seems like there is a mountain which I couldn't get over by myself,

A long night through which I couldn't persevere crying by myself,

A dark tunnel which I couldn't see the exit ,

always there was another part of myself that told me “ Don't give up, Keiko. You can pull through. When you are in hard times, be strong.”

Because of this part of myself within that lifts my soul and makes me stand up again and songs which I have been making, my anxiousness disappeared and safe and sound, I could welcome my birthday with joy.


I am still immature, spoiled like a baby(lol), and owe you many obligations,

I appreciate my power of faith that has never doubted “a ray of light leads the way to my dream” even for a moment and the people who have't deserted me and have supported me whenever I'm in a hard situation like this.

And at this time to renew and reflect called my birthday, I'm gonna respect every moment and work on improving myself.

Please support me from now on and forever .

She posted that in 2013. That's the most recent she seems to mention anything about her singing career. I miss HYNA and hope she'll come back someday soon.

Who knows. By this point I've kinda lost faith. Maybe she will comeback, but I don't think she will ever be popular.

Pretty sad, she caught quite a bit of attention with TARATIKA and I feel her strong voice, piano talent and good lucks could have gotten her far in the industry. I was genuinely looking forward to more material from her.

She recently changed the Facebook page picture back to a TARATIKA promo one but as susiowong said, there's been no mention of her own career or plans in a long time.

EDIT: Hm, she did say to a fan she'd be 'back soon' on the 21st March this year on her Keiko Bando fanpage, so maybe?

Well, iirc she turned down a contract with AVEX because she wanted more creative control and instead signed up to a tiny indie agency. She just didn't get much promo and since she only released one (?) single, never had the time to build up a fanbase/get more noticed.

The indie agency totally screwed her over.

I get that when you sign to a big agency they want you to do what they say, as you are an investment. But, when you prove yourself you get the control. Too bad Hyna didn't see it that way. Then again, sifow got signed and never took off. She's my most missed artist. And maybe Miray. Damn, maybe avex isn't that great anyway

She actually have three mini albuns, but they're from an independent record label:

The first one I can't remember the name, sorry haha - I ain't just ur avg girl! - just me.

And I made one compilation with her songs that she used to perform with the TARATIKA single (which I own a copy btw!), and I was following her career quite close. I even did an official cover for her digital single FREAK ME OUT.

Spoiler:

During the time that she went away, I got the information that she did a concert that she was not supposed to do, I can't remember if it was a problem with her brand new songs, since she composes and writes all her songs, or with the label it self, so they just stopped her career, and since she has a contract, she has to follow their direction.

It's sad that it's taking way too long to a comeback, but maybe one day she'll be back!
