All of Utada's Japanese Albums have sold over 1 Million. And are Single Collections themselves given that her Discography is so small. The handful of new Songs on that BEST is what sold that BEST. Not the Singles that everybody already had.

I'm talking about an ORIGINAL Album.

Because truth be told if Utada releases an ORIGINAL Album right now. This would happen:

Until hikki would release an original album, misono would outsell her at total sales. Namie already did, or didn't she? ayu and matsutoya yuming left their dust long ago and AKB48 are the only ones who are capable of getting to them. Time to come back hikki to slap namie out while she is on her way down .

ULTRA BLUE was Million-certified, but only sold ~900k before it ended its chart run. There was a big news article about it from Oricon when HEART STATION finally sold 1,000,000 in late '08 because it managed to outsell ULTRA BLUE by 150,000 copies overall.

kana's with LOVE sold 252,991 already, I wonder if it comes to the point where kana and namie are starting to be sales rivals (if namie will reach it). It depends how front loaded namie's sales became and her longevity.

Kana already has a big hit in her pocket and she will probably release at least 2 more singles before the album and if one of them is also a big hit, I think she has a chance of not seeing a decline in sales. She's really consistent
with LOVE's first week was 100k and ended up with 250k, thats more than a 150% increase

I'm a bit surprised with the drop, I never really expected that it would be that huge. Anyways, I like the album but it kind of feels generic for me, it didn't slay as much as FEEL.

I wonder if it would be a different scenario if the songs from her TSUKI single are included...
