"RAINBOW" now Number 2
"Rainbow" dropped from the number one spot on the Oricon charts after just a week. That's a suprise, seeing as it sold so much in the first week.

The Kinki Kids "F Album" debued at number one, "RAINBOW" is now number 2, and D-A-I's "True Song" debued at number 3.

I'm willing to bet she'll move back up in the ranks! I have my faith

this is only the daily ranking but im pretty sure that IT will move back up. weve seen it in H ,which has been pushed back many times but got back up again

arh how can!!? Even though kinki kids is not bad, but ayu's rainbow has just been released not for long, so fast dropped to no.2 liaoz, okie, let's all pray that ayu will rise up to no.1 again!

There's a big diffference between the daily chart and the weekly chart. The daily charts usually change with whatever has been released the latest. The weekly chart is a better indication of how well an album is selling. RAINBOW is still number 1 on the weekly chart, and in my opinion, that's more important. RAINBOW sold over a million copies, while its closest competition has only sold 301,028 copies. So Ayu is doing pretty well, even if she's number 2 on the daily charts! hehe

it's all very similar to american box office. the most crucial (and profitable) days are over the weekend of course. when movies debut soon after an established competitor (take "Catch Me If You Can" going up against "The Two Towers" for example), the newcomer may actually have a daily take that is higher than the established movie, but in the long run, the established movie usually wins out. so don't put much faith in daily sales.

i'm just glad to see DAI up there too!
