Kuroki Meisa to star in upcoming NHK drama “Designer Baby”

Just a few hours ago, it was announced that actress Kuroki Meisa (27) will play the leading role of NHK General’s fall drama “Designer Baby”. The drama will premier on September 22, 2015 in the Tuesday 10 PM time slot. It will have a total of 8 episodes.

The series is described as “crime entertainment on the cutting edge of reproductive medicine” and as the title implies, thematizes the possibility of gene-manipulation in fertilized eggs to satisfy parents’ preferences in appearance, physical strength and even intelligence of their future child.

Kuroki will star as a female detective who is in her 8th month of pregnancy. When she first heard about “designer babies”, she remarked “I was like ‘eh?’ and a shiver ran down my spine! I would be very happy if people were to start thinking (about designer babies) or became interested because of this work.”

I think she gave up and is focusing purely on movies/dramas. She hasn't released anything at all ever since the marriage. It's so unfortunate too because UNLOCKED was a really fun album, and Wired Life was one of the best songs ever.

Kuroki Meisa & Akanishi Jin Considering Having 2nd Child Together

Kuroki Meisa and Akanishi Jin are thinking about having a second child together.

Kuroki has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming NHK drama series "Designer Baby" which will begin airing on September 22. During a press conference for the drama, Kuroki discussed her desire to have another child.

"A second child, a third child, I would just be blessed if I had the chance to have another one," the actress said.

"Designer Baby" explore themes surrounding the genetic engineering of babies according to traits parents want their child to have. Kuroki stated that she would not participate in this, but rather would let nature take its course and accept whatever traits her baby may have.

Kuroki and Akanishi married each other in February of 2012. The couple had their first child, a girl named Theia, on September 23, 2012.

Actress Kuroki Meisa (27) recently tweeted a photo of herself with no makeup on.

On October 10, Kuroki shared that she went to the gym after shooting for her drama. Although she claimed that her "makeup came off from all of the sweat," she still looks as stunning as ever. Many fans commented on how beautiful she is with or without makeup.

Kuroki, who is now a mother of one, currently stars in the drama "Designer Baby" as an 8-month pregnant detective.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Her music was really fun to listen to. Yeah, her voice isn't the best but it was tolerable. Still waiting for the day we get another Wired Life or 5-FIVE- but at this point I've already given up. Glad her acting career is still going strong though.

Yeah I actually feel her music is not bad even though vocal wise , she's alright

Just that for most people , they 1st see her as an actress & model . I myself too as I 1st knew her as 1 when I watched One Pound Gospel back then

I think all the while music's something that she does on a sideline and after she released UNLOCKED , her focus have been more on endorsement deals , acting on TV , starring in movies & most recently starring in a butai

I definitely hope she will release some new music in future but I'm not so positive about it but you never know

She doesn't have the best vocals ever but her music is amazing to work out to. Her second album is way better than the first one though.

I liked Meisa Kuroki for her music. She may not be an outstanding vocalist and I have no troubles admitting that, but for me her voice was just fine and not irritating like other Japanese artists/bands I have come across with good music but an annoying singer who turns me off completely. I guess the credit all goes to whoever Meisa's producers were who gave Meisa's style of music this, shall I say, unique drop of urban sound in pop music. The style is exactly why I liked her music. Such a shame that it's seemingly very unlikely Meisa will come out with new music

Meisa's acting career I am indifferent towards because I don't really watch Japanese TV/movies. Not because I necessarily loathe it, but the inaccessibility of it for an English speaker turns me off. Maybe if someone gives me a good movie or drama Meisa starred in to watch in HD and English subs then I'll watch it, but the only thing I was interested in watching what she was in (Shiawase ni Narou Yo) I could only find in low quality
