Well, BoA did that, released an album full of singles and only one new song. I liked it, thought it was a smart move but most of her fandom thought it was terrible.
Don't think it would be different for Namie.

It's reaching 2 years since genic so I hope we get an album full of new material. I wouldn't mind if she pulled a Koda and did something like BEST+Universe. But we don't need an Uncontrolled -Part 2- lol
 I also hate that she's been touring for so long. I miss when it felt like we were getting something new from her every other week lol. Now this time around, there's been no new promo or anything despite her DVD coming out in a little over a week

Usually I wouldn't mind an album full of singles (I actually loved Uncontrolled) but I just don't think any of Namie's singles in 2015 or 2016 were strong at all. None of them stood out to me. So totally new material sounds more appealing to me. Really curious to see what she'll do.

I'm not excited at all for new material though, it'll probably be either a new genic pt 2 full of Engrish or a record full of cheesy pop songs like the ones she has been releasing lately. I really miss the old Namie, I would love a new album in the vein of past future, even Play or Queen of hip hop. |

^ I agree. I do hope with the next album, we get songs that sound like they were specifically made for her... rather than her just listening to a bunch of demos and choosing which ones sound nice like she did with genic. While the songs she's been releasing aren't bad, they also aren't great either.
Except Mint. Mint is everything. Also, Namie gurl, where that Dr/Defend Love continuation at lol

I hope avex (or namie herself, she has her own sublabel, I guess?) release her stuff on spotify asap. But it seems it's only happening when the artist releases a new album, I don't know... T.T
As for the album, gosh, please forget those singles lol I find them terrible lol except for mint. Mint is everything. |
