I love the pink pic, I want it for an album cover.
I don't like the postcard for cd shops but well at least is a bonus. |

I think it's cute when she works with her husband, but I also don't like any of the songs they've done together. :x

Chances All reminds me of someday — I don’t mind it. I prefer it to haircut.
What I do mind is that horrid black Carol Brady wig.

Ty Dolla $ign? Wow. Interesting that he was involved with Chances All.
I truly love that Kumi and Kenji work together on her albums. |

Oh wait. He uses the name Hi-yunk when he works with her? Scratch what I said then. I thought he was responsible for all the BACK-ON songs like "Poppin love cocktail" and "Bring It On", which I really don't like. But he actually wrote "BRIDGET SONG", so I'm good with him. (Though he also did write "WATCH OUT!!", which I find increasingly annoying, so...)

I was actually thinking that lil wayne was the one behind CHANCES ALL. During the chorus after she says "chances all" it sounded so much like him. haha I wasn't that far anyway, but that's very interesting.

So here's a list of all songs written by her husband Kenji and BACK-ON.
Songs by hi-yunk: All for you, LIFE so GOOD!!, BRIDGET SONG, Stand by you, Promise you, ALL RIGHT, LIT, Dangerous, WATCH OUT!! ~DNA~, 心からi love u. Songs by BACK-ON (Kenji & TEEDA): Poppin' love cocktail feat.TEEDA, Bring It On, Guess Who Is Back. It still is funny to me, how BACK-ON wrote Poppin' love cocktail for Kuu, a song about a woman being together with a younger man, while Kuu and Kenji were dating, but the public didn't know it yet. They were such a tease! ![]() Quote:
I expected the performance would be much, much worse and when I watched it, I was pleasantly surprised. ![]() It is not as bad when performed live. Don't like the song nevertheless. But I appreciate the theme/lyrics and that it's probably supposed to sound uncomfortable.

Great to see the full body shot of DNA promo picture regarding the clearfile , for once the CD + DVD cover is not my favourite

An hour on bpm? Nice.
Random, but I had forgotten how strong Kumi's debut album was. affection is one of the strongest debuts from an avex soloist. Crazy to think they seriously considered terminating her contract. |

The first of the 4 PV specials for the album on TV is also airing on Friday, a day before bpm. Maybe they air one of the other new PVs in full?
For those wondering why she mentions Ayu in the preview...the host (a guy from EXILE btw.) apparently asked her something about her and she says here, that Ayu is also like that and if she does it she doesn't win. What that is.... tune in next week! ![]() They also preview that Kuu is talking about a never-before-heard story of how ero-kakkoii was created. Her debut album is my least favourite with just some strong songs. I absolutely adore grow into one though.

I didn’t realize they almost terminated her over it. Do you have any more info on that? I would love to read more on it.

@ Corvina, I can't get into her 2nd album. Maybe it's because avex didn't let her write as much. Last edited by lovethatkuu&ayu; 11th August 2018 at 07:02 PM. |

To fill in the whole story: After the success of real emotion/1000 no Kotoba the singles and the album after didn't meet expectations again, even though Kuu worked as hard for it (and e.g. performed in lots of clubs). Though she also stated later she needed time to find her own style in music and visuals and that lacked in her first three years, cause she didn't really know back then, who she is or wanted to be. That just started to slowly change in 2003 with her first steps into ero-kakkoii. And with the full change in 2004 she got big. I guess it was Koda Reki where she said, that people probably felt that she wasn't sure about herself before. Her 2nd album is just such a well-produced body of work to me. So poppy and catchy with an urban tinge. She worked with Lisa and Blistah for the first time and it really set the tone of her coming direction. I really think it helped her finding herself in her career. Which is why I don't mind that much that she wasn't so involved - she probably learned a lot through it (hence also the theme of the album).
