I remember this rumor that she used to be a gangster during her school times because there was a picture of her wearing a jacket that was often used by yanki (japanese gangsters).

Also about the yakuza thing, everyone here in Japan say that avex is part of Yakuza so in a way Ayu and all the artists are related to that too.
