I think The Covers is 1 of the rare TV shows that artistes performed songs in full unlike other shows where artistes usually don't perform in full due to time constraints except in rare occasions such as B'z performed Ichibu to Zenbu & Still Alive in full during 2017 FNS Kayousai as before that they had never performed on the show until then

That said Mika sounded great on The Covers & just like CDTV , Shounen Club Premium , NHK BS Premium has some fantastic beautiful stage set up

And Xianghua is right , Mika's rendition of Yuki no Hana on The Covers should have been used as the 1 in PORTRAIT ~Piano & Voice~ :s

Sony Taiwan will release Yuki no Hana 15 Shuunen Kinen Best-ban BIBLE next Fri on 15th March and they've been given the license to make the 3 CDs + Blu-ray version of the compilation album

I’m listening to BIBLE since it’s on Spotify and I’m in a Japanese pop mood but I have a question.

Did she damage her vocals or something...? Since this compilation blends old and new releases, her voice sounds thin on the newer tracks... it’s almost jarring because I’m so used to her deeper vocals. For reference, the last time I listened to a more recent song was Hatsukoi.

Mika was not the sort of person who used to tour and perform on a yearly basis

In the past Mika used to go on tour every 2 years to promote her albums but since 2015 , that changed and somemore this year alone she will be doing 2 different tours back to back of each other

This might explained why her vocals being not as good as they once were & PORTRAIT ~Piano & Voice~ was quite evident as the material in it was really bad :x

That said , Mika sounded great in The Covers

I think many artists in Japan are being pressured to tour nonstop, since the market has slowed down over the past couple of years. Veteran acts in particular are really expected to pick up slack when they're sales don't meet label expectations.

I don't see how the labels expect their artists to remain vocally and physically healthy with these insane touring demands. Yes, touring brings in easy revenue, but it's just not a good to work an artist so hard.
