The ESC made the following statement after her performance : "In the live broadcast, two of Madonna's dancers briefly displayed the Israeli and Palestinian flags on the back of their outfits. This element of the performance was not part of the rehearsals which had been cleared with the EBU and the host broadcaster, Kan. The Eurovision Song Contest is a non-political event and Madonna had been made aware of this."

I think the backlash mostly comes from the fact that she got paid over a million dollars for this performance, that she was hyped a lot during the night and in the end she didn't deliver. If she had come here for free (or for money of course but with no disclosure of the amount she got paid) maybe people wouldn't be so harsh.

I'm not into any of her songs from the upcoming album, it's pretty disappointing.
