Seeing the awful blu-ray sales, it makes me wonder if they are going to ditch the format since they already did for the FC versions. I hope not. Kylie Minogue did this with her Golden Tour and I'm not gonna buy it because of it.

The blu-ray sales are actually slightly better than the DNA tour. I think they'll keep producing them as long as she stays stable.

I watched re(LIVE) Black Cherry yesterday. It was such a well done concert! I used to love BC Tour.
I felt the cute/ballad session was a bit empty but first part was still fantastic and 3rd part was so great too!
It’s nice to see how comfortable she is with her current style! I’m proud of her!

Going to watch JAPONESQUE in the next few days!

The situations with Kumi and Kylie Minogue isn't quite the same. Kumi is still with her original label, that despite its financial issues is still stable. Kylie is technically an independent artist these days and no longer with Universal music.

Her arrangement with BMG is designed to give the artist more power, but with certain safety nets and budget constraints in place. My guess is Kylie and the folks at BMG weren't willing to roll the dice on potential losses if the Blu-ray didn't sell. Avex being one of the power labels in Japan has more financial wiggle room with a veteran like Kumi.

The only way avex would pull the plug on any format is if a certain sales expectation wasn't met. The fact that avex has given no indication of dropping the blu ray format makes it clear that they are mostly satisfied with the result.

I was checking the lastest uploads on YT and BUT is already at 75K views, way more than W FACE videos and the most recent ones - except for Pink Spider, it's already over 200k! And this time the comments on Pink Spider seem to be nice (translated the top comments with google lol), and many people clicked on the "like" button. When it came out earlier in 2013 I remember maaaaany hide fans criticizing Kuu's version and the video as well, and there was a lot of dislikes. Glad to see that over time people came to appreaciate her take.

@lovethatkuu&ayu I'm not comparing their status or record deal, blu-ray didn't really catch on with consumers in general, specially in Japan. And if you need an indication of that: W FACE Tour was the only time they tried doing a FC version in blu-ray format, and they haven't done since as far as I remember. Also, I'm not saying that they are going to do this for the next release or something, but in some time in the future. "Regular" people doesn't care enough for the good image and sound quality to own a blu-ray player, even so blu-ray discs.

I was watching both concerts at the same time for the same songs, and it is so interesting to see the diference. Do we know the name of the director (or directors)? The biggest change is for GET NAKED: for JAPONESQUE the live is a little like the Dirty Ballroom concert, with a lot of effects, and for Black Cherry you see more of the PV and close shots.

Instead of doing more of those, they'll show old performances from their archives every hour, e.g. Hikaru Utada with Sakura Drops and Ayu with Voyage.
Probably to protect the artists being there.

The last part of the big 20th Anniv survey on Koda Gumi started for the last part of her career, from Go To The Top single till today.
Questions are the same as last time.
And they shared a small part of the audio commentary version of both re(LIVE) concerts first for FC and now for all on youtube (not listed tho).

Guess Kuu has a contract with NicoNico now, cause they'll stream the original Black Cherry and JAPONESQUE shows.

Not really . Nico Nico Nama's video quality all the while haven't been that great & that didn't help after they revamped their website :s

@junniorkopke Even using the premium membership the image quality isn't good, and it goes up to 720p only. Also, the source material isn't in HD, so it's not gonna be better than a good DVD upscale anyway.
