I read somewhere (I don't know if it was here or on AHS Discord) she said they are recording all three chapters.

A passport is a more than reasonable form of identification in this instance because staff would be unfamiliar with things like drivers licenses issued overseas, whereas passports are pretty cut and dry.

No one is saying you need to show proof that you’re legally in the country to be admitted to a concert venue. FFS.

This isn’t a Japan thing either; damn near any venue in any country will ask you to show ID if you’re picking up tickets at will call, and this is exactly the same principle.

If you’re that opposed to needing to show an ID to pick up tickets you purchased for a show then might I suggest you stay home?
All you should need is some proof of purchase to demonstrate a proper transaction took place. Personal identification is no-one's business; we're not talking about buying restricted material here. That's all I'm saying. I view a password as a social security number, something you only show when asked by a government entity.

If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. Just not "obtuse".

The thing is, ticket scalping has been booming these past few years. The resale is done with excessive prices, also reselling tickets that are exclusive to fan clubs. If the transfer of tickets is done legally, then everything is fine. In Japan right now resale is partly illegal, the best way to check that the person who bought the tickets is the one who is entering is to ask for the passport.

You are also not showing an ultra private document, the passport as Choco says, is the best way to confirm your identity. I don't think it's a violation of privacy to make sure the person who bought the ticket is the one entering.

It is done for security for the artist, for oneself and for those around them.

Also, you have to make it easier for forensic examiners to recognize corpses. Joke.

Japan requires recognized IDs for proof of purchase. As a foreigner, you don’t have Japan issued IDs, so your only proof is a passport, because it’s an internationally recognized document. Japanese people don’t know what every other countries IDs look like or any way to verify that they’re real, but they do understand that passports are official.

If you had a JP ID, you could use something much less in terms of ranking, like an insurance card.

No, I'll stick with "obtuse", thanks. You're willfully misunderstanding what people are saying to you.

Proof of purchase is not enough. When is the last time you were able to check into a hotel without showing form of identification? Or rent a car?

They need you to prove your identity through a recognizable document. This is not a difficult thing to understand.

Maybe they recorded parts of the Gunma show because of the Halloween Special encore

Seems like a hiatus symbol; that second wing in some songs live which always wasn’t there might be found now as well
