About You = "One Step Closer"?

whoever listens to "one step closer" by linkin park and then "about you" can tell that the riffs were taken almost directly from "One Step Closer".. thoughts?

Don't find much simillarities. The riffs from About You are shorter and they don't last until the chorus like One Step Closer does. I actually think it's much more of a coincidence. That would be like saying the beginning of SEASONS = Listen to your heart (from Roxette)

Like i just said on another thread, 'About You' can't be compared to 'One Step Closer' or any other Linkin Park song because they have totally different music style. I know the song and i don't think it sounds the same. I listened to it again to be sure and i don't think it sounds alike. 'One Step Closer' is more hard-rock/alternative type and Ayu is more a pop/rock/techno mix.

Of course, some people that don't really listen to rock-ish music will mostly say all rock music sounds the same just like my mom says that every ayu song sounds the same, and just as my sister say every Britney song sounds the same.

I'm sure if 'One Step Closer' and 'About You' sounded alike, i would love 'One Step Closer' which i don't. 'Faint' is so much better.

I do think they were generic though.

And I'm surprised no one's ever made an issue or noticed the guitars in Because of You sounds at least 80% identical to the intro of "Uso mitai na I love you".

I actually did pick up a slight similarity with these...but not enough that it made me think of that song specifically. I mean, I heard the riff, and Linkin Park came to mind...but I didn't think of that song in particular. Now that you mention it, yeah, sure, but not enough to start crying "BGM theft" or anything. O.o

Also, at around 2:30, there's something done with the guitar that reminded me of L'Arc~en~Ciel...they've done something like that before...but again, not a big deal. So there's some similarities. There are just SO many rock songs out there that you're bound to be reminded of others now and then.

No no no...in my opinion, there's this one part of About You that sounds so much like another song. It's the EXACT SAME few notes, but then About You goes another direction. I am not kidding, and I know a bunch of people are going to tell me, well, songs always sound a little bit alike, don't overanalyze it, the guitar riffs are not copied, etc., but I'm not talking about the guitar riffs, I'm talking about that one, small, distinguished measure that I swear I heard in another American song. It's driving me crazy! The minute I heard the first 10 seconds of About You, I stopped it and went, wait a minute. is this the new Ayu song I'm listening to?

If anything its 'GAME' that sounds like 'One Step Closer'...

I can't believe people are complaining about this song not being original, when the guitar melodys in 'GAME' sound like every Linkin Park song ever made... Kazuhito Kikuchi rules, and I doubt he would try to rip off a Linkin Park song...

I think this is something new from Ayu, I can't really compare it to any of her other songs...
