How did you get to like ayu?

Out of curiousity...how did you get to like ayu?

As for me, it was actually my sis was searchin' for another jpop artiste pv and she saw "MTV Asia Award 2002" on the search list. So she clicked and downloaded it. So one day i was using the comp, and i was bored and i saw the video clip on windows media player and i played it...I WAS SO INTO AYU AFTER i watched it! I meant....that was just one of her wonderful performance and i was born singapore...so was really happy the performance was held in singapore...The MTV Asia Award still my fav performance of ayu...i'd watch it every day, at least one...or sumtimes when i stay at home, i will play it over and over again from morning till midnight b4 i sleep..im that crazy!

Back when I had my old computer, which couldn't handle very much downlloading was when it happened. I was browsing the mp3 rotation on a favorite anime site. And they had these two songs for dl called M and Boys & Girls. I instantly fell in love with both songs. But I was unable to persue them. So, they got left on the back burner of a tape recorder(yes, this was before my CD burner. I actually manually recorded songs off of the comp on tapes). Nearly two years later, a friend introduced me to Kazaa. My comp threatened to fry every time I used it. I found those two songs again by accident and thought "How could I have forgotten these?!" So, I researched the artist. It was Ayumi, of course. =^.^= So, I was able to get a few songs of hers off of Kazaa. A Song for XX, I am..., monochrome, and Endless Sorrow, I believe. I was hooked. I immediatley started buying her albums. that wos around three years ago. And I still think she's great.

hmmmm well i knew Ayu about 2 years ago because one of my sister's friend loves her but i wasnt relli into J music because ive been listening to American music so i didnt relli care, my sister bought her album and i listened to some of the songs and just thought "wat the hell?" so i stopped listening to her music...then beginning of this year i was relli into japanese music so my brother's friend gave me some Ayumi Hamasaki music, which was moments and straight away my heart replaced Utada with Ayumi and i loved the song moments so i researched her and from then on i found more of her music and loved her!^^

I used to listen to alot of techno/trance music.
One day M "Above and Beyond" remix's PV was shown on TV.
I was like "omg that was the coolest trance ever" and looked up on Ayu, wondering if she does trance. Turns out she doesn't but it doesn't matter now, I'm hooked.

This is going to sound so Canadian *-* But yeah, here it is. I was watching InuYasha (start laughing...) and it was probably the first time I saw it and it was into its I think first season really far, and everything was so foreign looking since normal anime I watch is Digimon. Digimon is totally diff. than InuYasha graphics, but yeah. I nearly died after listening to "Change the World" opening theme, because it got hammered in my head and I ended up singing the song over and over for the next week. I missed the ending theme, which sadly enough featured Dearest by Ayu! So the next time I watched it I caught Dearest, my friend and I got totally hooked on Inu soundtracks and before you knew it I was downloading GAME, and from there I downloaded over and over until I had a large collection of over 100 songs XD

The very first time I saw Ayumi was on Yesasia while looking for DAI stuff. It was a little thing about "the Queen of J-pop's new summer single '&'". I looked at it and thought whoever that was they looked a little nasty and I didn't think anything of it anymore.

The first Ayu song I heard was "No more words" because I discovered Do As Infinity through Inuyasha which led me to look for Inuyasha Mp3s on Kazaa since I figured they picked pretty good songs for the intros/outros.

After I heard "Dearest", Ayumi's other song featured as an Inuyasha outro, I became curious because I repeated this song a couple times. So I started looking for more Ayumi stuff as I looked for Do As Infinity, on places like Nanokiero.

The next song I happened to stumble across was "No way to say" on Hey Hey Hey. I was so excited I got to see J-pop on my tv, and somehow, I recognized her.

I think the fourth song I discovered was "forgiveness" or "Real Me", on Nanokiero, either way, both got me hooked and I wanted to find out more, and luckily I stumbled upon AHS while searching for PVs and the AHS downloads helped me discover more Ayu and I bought 'Memorial address'...

These girls at my middle school were really into her. I wasn't when they were, but then I saw one of AYu's FLy High mixes in someone's profile, and decided to download it. That has sent me on an Ayu craze that lasts to this day...almost 4 years later.

My sister borrow A Best from her friend. And I slowly started gettting into ayu. But the first time I saw her was in a cd shop where her video was playing. But that time I didn't know who she was. Who knew I'd become such a fan!

I discovered Ayu back in late 1999 when LOVEppears/appears came out but I didn't actually listen till a few months later when I came across As If and after the first verse of As If I've been addicted to Ayu ever since. Then one day I stumbled across AHS and found other Ayu fans!!!

My story is kind of split into two sections

I was on a Seramyu (mailing list) when someone mentioned that one of the actresses was wearing a T-Shirt made by Ayumi Hamasaki. At the time I was really into the street fashions and what not, and I wanted more to do with the pop music culture than anime soundtracks. So I figured I'd figure out who she was. I didn't have Kazaa but there was this Korean website with her songs, so I downloaded her first album. I was instantly in love. So, her first album is one of my favorites.

Actually I just found a CD I initially burned after I found out about her. I hadn't downloaded alot, but I was impatient, and it contained half of "A Song for XX" "Never Ever" and "Hanabi"

But before this, I remember going to this Japanese marketplace near my house and seeing her poster up in a CD shop for Rainbow. I fell in love with the poster, I thought it was so beautiful!

So things connected and I downloaded all her songs and PVs eventually.....And after reading her lyrics I was hooked.

I discovered Ayumi Hamasaki either through the song "Depend on you" OR through downloading the ayu-mi-x II version US+EU album. It was a number of years ago (when LOVEppears was still new) so I don't remember which I heard first. =/ I do know that LOVEppears was the first thing of hers I bought, and I never looked back after that... 'cept to buy A Song for XX, haha.

At first I saw this PSD site called "Oh! La La! Psd's" or something, then I saw that there was many pictures of asians and I started to get intrested in finding out how the music was. So I downloaded some music by a korean group called Baby V.O.X. I loooved it.

Then for 1 year I was a fan of them and during that time I saw many webpages with the name Ayumi Hamasaki. I understood that she was very famous for something and so I downloaded HANABI off KazaA, but I hated it at first. Her vibrato made me really sick. A half year later I started creating a lot of layouts with Ayu because I thought that she looked so good, then I somehow got into a website and I accidentaly saw the M PV. I was hooked forever!

Ayu is now my only hobby and I think I will like her for quite sometime, her music is so addicting...
