The cell phone thing made me giggle... but even if to compose the song all you need to do is press buttons... well- if the melody is clear to her, that seems pretty easy to do.

^ Keep in mind how awesome Japanese cellphones are. Ayu's cellphone can probably produce more sounds than synthesizer

I think that pic of Ayu playing the clarinet is from a dorama... at least that is what someone said on another forum. One of my Japanese teachers said that it is a custom for Japanese elementary students to learn the recorder, but my other Japanese teacher said that it is a custom to learn the pianoca (a cross between a piano and harmonica-- it's a keyboard that you blow into).

Anyway, back on topic, I am pretty sure that Ayu can play the piano to some degree. Whether or not she uses the piano to compose, I don't know.

You can probably press a button and an orchestra pops out!

i think I read somewhere before that she played the clarinet and had some classical ballet training. i can't remember the source though and my mind is a bit fuzzy about that 'cos it was a long time ago that i read it, so u don't have to trust me on this.

Is it customary for Japanese kids to type 50wpm on thier phones too?

I think I can do about 25wpm, but i have to use the normal letter for letter one...the autocomplete thing confuses and annoys me...I wonder if Ayu is sponsored to use a Panasonic phone...if so I want one

LOL, I know. ^^ By "she," I meant Ayumi herself.

Ayumi seems to have a list of skills she learned but that doesn't mean she still does them IMO. I believe flower arranging is something she learned but on the ep of "Ayu Ready" when she and a guest did flower arranging, Ayumi's arrangement was...let's just say there's much room for improvement.
