Kagen no Tsuki DVD Release

Hehehe, the release date of Kagen no Tsuki (a manga turned movie by Ai Yazawa, featuring Hyde, Chiaki Kuriyama and Hiroki Narimiya) will be February 26th


Every 19 years, during "Kagen no Tsuki", or Last Quarter of the Moon, a miracle is set to happen and a romance is set to brew. Muzuki (Kuriyama) breaks up with her boyfriend Tomoki on her 19th birthday. Muzuki, feeling lonely and having nowhere to go, suddenly hears a familiar guitar melody. She followed the sound to an old house, where she meets Adam. They fall in love and vowed to meet a week later. However, on a night of the last quarter of the moon, Muzuki was run over by a car. She awakes to find herself in the old house, but she cannot leave it. She is still alive, lying in a coma, but existing as a ghost in the house...

Director Nikai Ken is known for his work directing MVs, having previously worked with HYDE, pierrot and The Gospellers; and his previous film Soundtrack won Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography at The 12th Spain International Fantastic Film Festival. HYDE not only recorded the theme song for the film, "THE CAPE OF STORMS", he also takes on the role as mysterious musician Adam in the film. Kuriyama, famed internationally for taking on more psychotic roles, plays an ordinary girl for the first time in her career.

Nikai Ken is the director of Kagen no Tsuki as well??? I got to know him through his previous movie Soundtrack with Sugizo as main actor and music composer as well XD

This movie sounds damn interesting. I'll be looking forward when my fren (who's a big hyde fan) buys it, hoho XD

The reason why it wasn't a big hit is because it wasn't advertised on TV that much in Japan.

Right, It was very well promoted on Yahoo Movies Japan. My friends told me about it and I'm really looking forward to see it. It looks good. And it's supposed to be considerably better than the manga it is based on. *I don't care for the Manga ><*

It looks great, but I don't think I'll be purchasing the special edition, even though it looks really nice I can't afford it.

Wow, they didn't promote it that much? I guess it was more of an underground thing then.
Now that you mention it...I didn't see a lot of promotion either for it. They shoulda created more buzz for this film. Chiaki + Hyde + Hiroki?! HELLO?

No kidding.. Hyde especially.. He's like the Brad Pitt of all of Japan
But hopefully it will get more attention when it's out on DVD ..
I won't be purchasing the special edition either, but I really want the VHS with Hyde singing on it
