A couple of questions about cds

My first question is... what is so special about an obi? Do all japanese cds have obis?

Also what are personal cheques.. I saw it is the only way I can buy cds on yesasia as I do not have a credit card like visa and we don't have paypal in my country. Any help please?

The only thing I might be able to talk about are obis... I don't think ALL Japanese CDs have obis, but a majority of them do. There's nothing all that special about them- sometimes they just have the CD title on them with the tracklist and sometimes they have advertizements for the artist's other work- or sometimes have ads for other artist's under the record lable. There's nothing extremely special about them, but the design is always sorta nice. Plus it's unique from America ^v^

Yes Asia gives you about 2 weeks to get the check to them, they send you an e-mail three days later reminding you that you've placed an order, and that you should get it in the mail. I'd reccomend sending it out within a day of ordering. If they haven't recived the check by near the end of the two weeks they'll send you an e-mail asking you if you want to extend the waiting periond by a few days. They don't pull anything from stock untill they've cashed the check, so they may have to hold your order if something's gone out of stock, or refund your money if an item goes out of print, but they'll call if something like that happens.

Obi's.. I always keep 'em. They seem to be worth more money on places like EBAY if you have 'em with the CD.

is a personal cheque the one u write from ur cheque book, the one u get with ur bank account? just to clear this up, since im not 100% and it might help demuredusk

Also .. with an OBI the barcode doesn't have to stay on the CD. That way its just the artist instead of all these gross distractions being forced on the CD, like Kelly Clarkson's new CD. I love it but it has so much crap on it about the FBI and various gross things. It takes away from the back image.

True indeed. It's rather smart of them to make an obi then.

yep, that's it. it's got your name up in the corner and the funds come from your bank account (or as it is commonly known as, you're checking account)
