OS CD versions....

I've read up on "Overseas Versions" of CD's on YesAsia but it doesn't really give me much information. Are OS's Bootlegs? Or are they normal CD's? If so does the money go to the artist? I appreciate if you could answer my question. =)

OS version was not bootlegs, and yea, thats normal CD. just like u can see Chrstina Aguilera's CD in US version and also UK, JP...etc version. and of course the artist can get the money.

I have purchased a couple os versions and never had problems, but just recently I bought the OS version of ai otsuka's Love Jam + DVD. OS actualy means it is intended for sale in China, so you get the original product with an extra sheet with all the lyric in chinese. the only problem is that DVD encoding for Japan and China is the same, so maybe the DVD will be all regions and maybe it wont. Ai otsuka's dvd is area 2 encoded (asia, and also europe I hear.... but not america) so I cant watch it.

i think most of the OS ver. from Avex was all made in taiwan and Hong Kong....? i guess. so maybe the region code of the DVD will be region 3.

Just get a free region dvd player. Solves all the hassles of regional crap ^_^

Oh okay. I recieved my OS CD today and I guess it means it's a hong kong version. (It says Hong Kong Avex on the back) The only difference is it's through the overseas company and not the japanese right? And the money still goes to the artist. I also recieved a small lyric sheet with it in chinese. XD It's really nice. I also checked out my DVD's region online and it's a multi-region so no worries for me when I purchase my DVD's. =) Thanks everyone for your help. <3

I just feel the need to add that sales of OS version CDs don't count towards the Japanese charts.

But really, just buy the OS versions.
