You must be completely nuts to think Ayu should start her own record company. Yes. She's really powerful in this industry. But she's just not powerful enough. Besides, it looks like Ayu doesn't even wants to make her own record company. Why would she waste a big amount of money on that? It's not even an easy thing to do. You must have quite a few successful artists in the record company to make a certain amout of money.

Ayu will follow MAX wherever he goes. Despite people saying how they have this fake friendship, I think that maybe they do care about each other.

AVEX won't drop Ayu, Ayu won't leave AVEX. That's it. (at least for now...)

I highly doubt so. Requires too much work and investment. It might happen if Avex kicked Max Matsuura but that is highly improbable at the moment.

avex arent dumb enough to lose ayu.
it will make lots of other artists skeptic to be with avex. They made her that big by promoting her and all that, then they would knock her down?

You never know if Ayu ddi do her own label if it would take off. She migth not get the suppliers to distribute it, etc, etc, etc,

I agree that it is very doubtful that Avex would ever dump Ayu, unless her sales took a severe plummet and she was no longer useful to them. I do however think that there is at the very least resentment from Avex towards Ayu. I don't know how the higher ups, share holders etc could not have been at least slightly miffed over the incident last year with Max and Ayu both threatening to leave. So in order to make Ayu stay, they make Max president. I don't think Ayu did anything wrong - Max is her mentor and the one that discovered her, she should follow him wherever he goes. But it showed just how much power Ayumi holds over Avex and I doubt Avex likes that much.

So while the Alterna PV was obviously made with Avex's consent, it doesn't mean that there is no actual strife between them.

[QUOTE=jerms]dude..the alterna pv showed the usual course of a singer's career. you people are way overanalyzing the whole bit of her and avex drama. every singer will lose popularity sooner or later. geez, so much looking into, its shallower than you think.QUOTE]

I wouldn't be so quick to pass off the alterna PV. Ayu is a very symbolic artist. She's always stressed symbols behind her lyrics and even the covers to her albums. Her PVs are no different.

well...if Ayu started her own record label I'd fly to Japan just to reserve an audition for it! I think it would be nice if she could train someone as almost being her "apprentist" (sp?) . But it she would have to put in a whole lot of money into and whoever was on the label would have to bust tail just to be recognized as an individual. But despite that, I think there would be a lot of people lining up for that opportunity no matter how difficult the road would look.

Hmm...you guys don't think avex will dump Ayu? I think they may depending on who they want to be the next big thing. Ayu's a strong and determined artist, the only way they could get rid of her would be to dump her. (even if an album flopped, she would get up and try again so I doubt they would get her just for that; 'specially since she practically made avex into what it is today)

the alterna PV, didn't it come out AFTER those tabloid reports we've been reading lately...so how could they be copying it? Oh well, doesn't really matter now does it? The truth is in our faces now...

I just hope that the Ayu/avex drama doesn't end up like the Mariah Carey/Virgin records drama. That was very embarrassing...but atleast she proved them a little wrong with her latest cd sales. It's still a little hard for me to believe that they paid her to leave...Hmm I wonder how much avex would have to give Ayu in order to make her leave quietly (though I doubt she would afterwards) ?

avex would never dump Ayu. Look at Namie, after the lowest point in her career (her album "break the rules") she was basically transferred to SUITE CHIC to renew her career. As long as Ayu makes money, they will keep her.

Ayu just doesn't have the capital to start her own recording company, I think. Yes she's rich, and she probably has good credit to get a loan from the bank, but she's a high-end artist that needs high-end equipment for music and pictures. If she was to start her own recording company, her concerts would have to downsize a bit so she won't go broke . No Hawaii trips just to film a pv :p.

Alright, I don't really know much of the recent Avex strife, but I'd like to say that it seems to be pretty easy for people to start their own record companies. A LOT of American minor artists have their own. Eminem started his a little after his first album was released. I'm pretty sure capital wouldn't be a problem in Ayu's case. I don't know if there would be any need for it, but it shouldn't be cast off as impossible.
