I don't know, I don't believe having music tabs is wrongful [especially if you pay for them] but if you think about it, isn't that the essence of the music? By having them illegally it's like your downloading an mp3.

I don't think music is about "learning new styles" as it is about mixing, creating, and editing old styles. Most muscians need infuence, whether it be another artist or the fact that they're counter acting another musical style, downloading music allows artist to hear new styles which can be very inligthning and influencial.

Illegal music downloads don't always rob an artist, not everyone can be reached by the market of sales. Some people are poor or don't live in an area where the music is available for sale. This artist wouldn’t be making a profit off the CD from these people to begin with.

I would compare illegal downloading to mixtapes. Obviously that hurt the music buisness so much it never rebounded :\ <---sarcasm [for those who are slow].

I think this is just another hurdle musicians can learn to work around. People need to learn to live in the world of "numbers," and in one with tangibles.
The definition of raping:
tr.v. raped, rap·ing, rapes -To seize and carry off by force. To plunder or pillage.

You can like something and be digusted with certian aspects. EXAMPLE:I love ayus music but dispise most of her looks and image.
So... I hate they are doing this(about lyrics and tabs), but love they are punishing people who steal from my friends who make their living off of music.

They are taking the law of copyright and persicutuing interpretations of music..which IS legal.

The robin hood approch (to illegal d/ls) being poor is noble but still wrong. Go to a free MP3 site and get some. Or download, listen to it, then delete it. All are legal ways of hearing what you want to hear.
Bands like Muse, Dillinger Escape Plan, Dream Theater encourage people to tab and make sheet music. The problem comes into effect when you have sheet music/tabs for sale and you have a site that offers free accurate d/ls. If there is an offical version then it needent be up for d/l. But interpretations are legal.

MPA still hasn't replied to me...
