hmm its really a pretty name, but I wouldnt want my daughter to have a really common name...
so I would have to check how common that name at that time will be then

I always thought Yume would be a pretty name, but guess she'd have to face all sorts of puns then

Haha, I think the creator of the thread changed her username to "biscuit"...she's a moderator with me at our LJ community, ayuchib, so yes, she still likes Ayu.

As for me...I like the name Ayumi..but I don't know if I'd name my daughter after Ayu....although I AM Asian, it all depends on what kind of guy I marry..if I marry a Caucasian, it might be different for people to really understand a name like "Ayumi Smith"...haha. Now, if I married an Asian guy, though...maybe. =P

Quite possibly I might hehe. My future wife would have to agree though (wouldn't it be great if it was another Ayumi fan? XD ). Plus, Ayu is also a malay name, so it wouldn't sound too odd. Heh.

That's pretty funny. I just had this discussion today with my friends. One of them actually asked me, "Would you name your daughter Ayumi?". I definitely would though. I love the name and Ayu is such a great nickname. I'll probably adopt and I would like to have a Japanese daughter. So if that was the case, the name wouldn't seem so weird. But I do like Noriko and Sakura too

I wouldn't name my DAUGHTER Ayumi (I live in Australia >.> Ayumi is a pretty weird Australian girl name)...

... but if I got a female Akita Inu or Shiba Inu, I'd be more than willing to name it Ayumi.
