I've heard that there was some sort of rivalry between Akina Nakamori and Seiko Matsuda. I don't remember the particulars.

Well, they're kind of like the Utada Hikaru and Ayumi Hamasaki of the 80s, except there was this scandle case. Supposedly Seiko had an affair with Akina's boyfriend and Akina attempted to commit suicide or something...
