Why isn't Japan nominated for MTV Asia Award?

I think MTV Asia handed out awards to Ayu for the first two years. Don't know why nothing for Japan now. But I really think that the award is really pointless, since Japan has its own. I stop seeing the award show sometimes ago. I just don't have a clue on how they select artists for winning some of the awards. I always have a feeling that most of the awards are just a deal between the record companies and the show (after years of watching the Hong Kong's award show). Anyways, I think that it's best that Japan has their own, since it allows for various categories of awards.
