I don't know about that. I don't think she ever went deaf but she got some serious problems with one of her ears after one tour. I can understand her, the sound level of her performance at the Yoyogi Stadium was immense, that one held 12000 people. A guess is that her performance in the Tokyo Dome held 40000+ people (max 55000), that would mean more speakers and even louder volume. When you stand behind the speakers, on stage, the noise isn't that loud, as the speakers are build to push the sound forward (according to my friends father who got a band the speakers is most likely set up that way). But for some songs she walk out into the centre of the Dome, at those times she has to pass the speakers which can be completely devastating for your ears.

Ears can be damaged from either too much loud noise for a too long time or a short moment of an extremely loud sound.

There's also the possibility that the earbuds that she used for the performance has far too loud volume in them, this damaging her hearing.

Maybe the answer can be gotten in the NTV interview from 2004? I haven't watched it yet.

I'm not sure if it was during DT01 that she hurt her ear.

Maybe it's the echo of the sound too?

Personally, another A MUSEUM would be nice, and I don't really care where it's held (ie: zepp, halls, arenas, domes, stadiums). But another Stadium or Dome Tour would be nice though.

Yeah, the echo is impossible to avoid, but the speakers are placed so that there's to be as little of it as possible, and I heard no serious echo when I was at the Yoyogi Stadium on neither performance, close or far back from the stage (if my memory didn't erase the echo). In the Dome Tour DVD you can clearly hear the echo though. I think that standing behind the speakers is like standing at the back of the arena/dome/stadium, the sound is still really loud but far from devastating.

No offense, but your post didn't help . Well, as long as whatever the off-topic posts is about is interesting for many and/or invite people to more discussion on some matter that's atleast remotely connected to the inital post I don't think it matters much. If a topic would turn into a private discussion between two members it's another thing, that could be taken via PM. Well, it's not for me to judge.

on topic:
Guess what? I still want a A MUSEUM in a DOME! :-O

Probably cos Yoyogi is just smaller than the Domes, I think it would there would be naturally be more echo, but would there be echo if it's like in a outdoor stadium?

If it's surrounded by walls - most likely, unless the stadium in question was build with the acoustic of it in mind, but I don't think many sport stadiums are - I have no clue, only guessing.

If there's no surrounding walls on an open field there'd most likely be no echo, heh. But I think that a concert out in the open might sound worse than inside, sound get so much more power if it's enclosed in a room.

In the AT05 DVD you can hear a slight echo at times, but it's nothing like the clear echoing sound in the Dome.
