I will check my newly found backup of Gackt stuff that I thought was long lost, if there's some live concert DVD rips in there, I'll upload them.

I love how you put that about Gackt being your male Ayu, I have to say it's the exact same way for me. I discovered Gackt around 5 years ago, when a friend showed me the Silent Night performance of Gackt + Ayu, I never cared for Ayu but Gackt caught my interest and I really enjoyed his music, never went to any Gackt forum though.

In January this year I finally decided to listen to an Ayu song, OOPS.

Well cos of that news about the extension of this year, I doubt that will happen. (1st + 2nd week = 2006; 2007 = the rest) Unless Oricon retracted their statement about the extension then it depends on how well next year's albums will do...

As of last week ~4k off (m)u, this week I think it's going to be like 2-2.5k.

I wonder why people always start off-top...

True but I think female singers in the western world still have a better chance of remaining popular than the one's in Asia

Cher = 60 (Retired now, but still had massive hits like Believe well into her 50's)
Dolly Parton = 60 (she's still very famous in American country with her latest single peaking at No. 1)
Madonna = 48 (latest album sold 10 million copies)
Shania Twain = 41
Janet Jackson =40 (current album debuted at No.2 on the BB Album charts, Not bad)
Kylie Minogue = 38 (Kylie did'nt break america when she was young, she broke in at 34, Victoy for the older singers)
Jennifer lopez = 37
Gwen Stafani = 37 (Damn, she only looks like she's in her 20's)
Mariah Carey = 36
Dannii Minogue = 34 (She may only be famous in the UK but it's still a western country)
Fergie = 31

Off topic: Gwen Stefani is 37??? Wow...you learn something new everyday...

I was pretty shocked when I saw Gackt's sale number. From various tours he does and the reaction from the audiences in special lives and stuff, you'd guess he sells a lot. But I really think Gackt cares about perfecting his music and his fans more than his sales, and that Nippon Crown really don't hammer money money money into their artist's promotions and stuff unlike CERTAIN record labels I can think of *coughAvexcough*.

Anyways, 8 years, and still achieving pretty high is pretty amazing for Ayu. I would never get some of the logic behind Avex's marketing techniques, but w/e.
