It's not the end of the world or of Ayu fandom, but I do find the sales disappointing because I'm so happy with the album and think it deserves to do at least as well as (miss), which isn't going to happen now.

Either that or they downloaded the tracks or the whole CD itself from the idiots that brought Secret to the Internet before stores had them, and so they either said a) "I don't like these tracks, so I'm not going to support Ayu and her CD." or b) "Well, now that I downloaded the songs/CD, I don't really need to buy her album."

My blame is on the idiots that brought Secret to the Internet. Why did people do that? Grr I just wanna ...

then again for (miss)understood she didn't sing any album tracks, so i can't complain
She may not have sang album tracks, but she at least mixed up the single tracks that she performed at the end of the year so it wasn't too repetitive and those single tracks sold well. This year she is only performing Jewel AND the singles from the album did not sell very well. I still think it's the weakness of the singles that put people off of this album.

^That could be the reason. People didn't really like BLUE BIRD/ Beautiful Fighters / Startin' / Born To Be... so they didn't bother to buy the album.

I agree. It makes the whole purpose of having album released (on cd) in stores pointless. The way Ayu's sales are lookin', Koda probably will dominate Ayu's sales and the charts but I still think she won't sale over a million copies of her album. Yeah, it might be Koda's time to shine but from what I've been hearing, her album isn't worth mentioning but then again I have to wait until hear the album to make my own opinion about it.

I`m wondering if Ayu feel SAD about that. or she think that is just a season effect or a bad promotion strategy.

Don't we have a download chart somewhere to see where she is?

Anyway, these sales are good, I mean, weak singles (I hate almost all the songs really, they're really super americanized....) and BTB is just UGH. Jewel/1Love probably would've helped the album in singles sales, because, those are good songs.

Hopefully if this keeps up she always sells 500,000+ in every album. Which is still a good feat.

Yeah, I find that totally unfair now since everyone has ipods and computers (I know, duh right). I mean 4 example, (IMO) one of the only reasons Hikki's Ultra Blue singles selled so low was because everyone was downloading the songs instead of buying them. So if there isn't no downloading charts than there shouldn't be no charts at all.

I am satisfied, 500 000 or 700 000, it is the same for me.
From 500 000, it is good sale, isn't it. Even if it's Ayu.

Sad, but we should still be happy that she broke half a million. Really, half a million is the new million these days.

Sorry, but the only reason you guys are angry is that you put unrealistic expectations upon albums. I know a lot of you said it would sell millions, but that's totally unrealistic, and you're just going to be hurt more when you realise she isn't selling millions, though I wonder why you'd get hurt anyway.

^Well I doubt millions. But there is a chance that the album is receiving better reception outside Japan.

I can say something like that. Considering B grade singers such as Tata Young can sell 3 million copies asia wide, I consider it an easy goal for Ayu.

Secret is believed to be her most successful album overall but no one person know's for sure. I don't know how much it sold but I would say in the millions (or something high) otherwise Avex would not be so smitten with her. Plus she is doing alot of work/promotion outside Japan now. So higher sales around asia might help to explain that.
