I don't get why everyone is so disappointed. This is miles above her recent magazine shoots that have all been so dull and boring and really ugly imo. Not to mention pretty much all the same.

Maybe it's because I'm a man, but I love this shoot. Idk how I'd feel if I was a girl, but to me, I am sexually attracted to Ayu and this photoshoot is HOT! I'm in love. Her expression is perfect! It's like my fantasy Ayu shoot. Lol.

It's not because you're male. I'm female and not sexually attracted to Ayu (or females in general) and I love the picture. So there must be some other reason for all the hate.

Eh, I once had tons of respect for her cuz she didn't use English in her lyrics. When that went away, I was happy (for about a month) that she at least didn't dance very much. But that was long ago. I got over it.

Not to attack you or anything, but it's hilarious at the things people get disappointed with Ayu over. It's like she can't do what other people do EVER or she's a sell-out, slvt, wh*re etc etc. I think it all comes down to one little word, "expectation." It's because of FANS' expectations that things get blown way out of proportion sometimes, not necessarily what Ayu is doing. We're like annoying parents who tell our kids, "YOU'RE GOING TO BE A DOCTOR, YOU'RE GOING TO DO THIS OR THAT." And when they do something different or something they want to do, we shame them. Please, everyone, let's not shame Ayu. She's human, and even if you are a little disappointed, you gotta admit, it is not that bad, ne?

I completely agree, which is why I made the point that I got over it... cuz bottom line, if Ayu does something that I'm kinda disappointed with, the core reasons why I love Ayu don't change. The artistic integrity of her work is still just as good as it always was (okay, the "Real me" video lost an ENTIRE chunk of important plot detail when she started dancing all the time afterwards, but that's like... the ONLY example). Her lyrics still get to me, they're still fantastic. She still does so much for her fans. She still works REALLY hard. She's still a perfectionist. She still takes her career very seriously. And honestly, everything she's done that I've once disagreed with is a reflection of that. Fans wanted Ayu to sprinkle some english into her lyrics. Fans liked it when she danced in PVs and in concert so she worked REALLY hard to get in shape & get good at it. If she's doing this, it's because she knows fans will get a kick out of it, plus she'll probably get some new ones. She probably worked really hard to make sure she had exactly the right stylist and the right photographer working with her, made sure it was people she was comfortable with. She wouldn't have settled for some skeezy shoot with a questionable weirdo behind the camera. She's playing around, showing a sexy and fun side of herself, and she's doing it for those of us who find her hot and have wanted to see this for a long time! XD

If it isn't people complaining about doll-like poses and 'dead' expressions...or fish lips and over-photoshopped eyes or whatever...it's something else lol

I'm happy she's done something dramatically different (: And she's done it in a classy way too, totally in Ayu-style. You don't see anything we haven't seen before from the likes of the RAINBOW and Mirrorcle World covers, plus she's modelled in bikinis before she started singing She's still Ayu to me and she's still beautiful. It must be hard to do such a different photoshoot after such a time of doing the cute look, but it's about time. ^^
