I used to be obsessed about listening when I got the CD but in all honesty. You have that amazing first listen moment and it's the same feeling regardless if you have the CD in your hands yet or not. It's about the feeling for me now. I will still buy the album by the way, on the first day.

so yey I love the album...
Spoiler:

On and On is great...but it is just a bit too repetitive. For some reason for me it's like a really really long interlude lol

FYI- still one of my favorite songs.

Apple and Cinnamon is now my second favorite...the verses were a little meh to me at first...but now I love it.

Taking my money back - also love. Nice comp. though not original, I like it anyway.

This One...um...it's alright...but kinda forgettable for me...I don't really like some things she did with the lyrics as in, words she chose and how she sang them.

Automatic II is my least fav on the album I think...I just don't like it lol and the lyrics...I mean...why are there even lyrics...none of them really say anything...nothing that needed to be said anyway.

Dirty Desire - this song is awesome...because it really incorporates influences from a few different eras of music to kind of come out with this interesting "now" sound...if that makes sense lol I like it <3 that's my dark horse on the album. It was a really odd bridge though that doesnt really go to me...i think bridge is the right word...Just a little too messy towards the end lol.

Poppin' - okay...I really like the style of this song. Like really...but I feel like she just kind of kills the song with the awkward talking lyrics...and her singing way too high for the style. Just okay for me...not as bad as when I heard the preview. I like the little effect in the background that was used at the end of Fresh Prince of Bel Air lol

CB2M - just as meh as always for me...not my favorite...not the worst, a solid ballad I think.

Me Muero - I like her little samba in the back...I think that is called samba? whatever is it, the beat is extremely latin...just not what we're used to I think...and I think it really makes the song unique. All the little off beats and off chord notes...honestly, REALLY helps me appreciate this song...I really don't think I would if it wasn't for all the musical stuff she does. And I actually really like this song a lot.

So long post short...my ranking now is

1. FYI
2. Apple and Cinnamon
3. Me Muero
4-7. Dirty Desire/Taking My Money Back/This One/CB2M
8. On and On
9. Poppin'
10. Automatic Part II

It's actually hard for me to rank the songs...because musically I think there are only a few songs that are really better than the others...but thats my ranking in terms of favorites I guess.

I like it...8/10

It IS better than Exodus. So much. And so many past influences...it's just...an album I think we should all really appreciate because you don't really find too many albums that go back in time like that.

It really is what she said. TLC, Ace of Base, "the good old days" lol Just a little smarter and with hikki vocals and crazy lyrics.

Also...actually I wouldn't mind at all if hikki continued in this direction in japanese lol (I don't know how much of the awkward lyrics I can take) but I don't think she would let it get boring...I think it would be interesting. Atm I actually don't care what direction she goes in...I just want more hikki stuff.

I downloaded the album earlier on , will be giving a listen after I downsize the files since I don't need a 320kpbs version of the whole album

OK here's what I've got to say:

Amazing
-"On & On" (Excellent intro. Love the club feel)
-"Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI" (Beautifully done. The lyrics, the melodies, everything works)
-"This One" (Lovelovelove the chorus)
-"Come Back To Me" (Still the best song for me)

Good
-"Taking My Money Back" (Very much a 90s R&B throwback... but it doesn't feel very genuine)
-"Dirty Desire" (Kind of hilarious but I don't mind it)
-"Apple & Cinnamon" (Nice melody... it does get a little lost with all the other tracks)

OK
-"Automatic Pt. II" (A little awkward)
-"Me Muero" (Nothing too special. I like the chorus a lot though)

WTF
-"Poppin'" (NO. JUST NO)

Basically the only song that I LOVE is "This One (Crying Like A Child)". It's perfect. Sounds really similar to Koda Kumi's walk. The intro chords and such. I get that everyone has different opinions but this song really is produced amazingly and everything about it is great. I'm surprised, and disappointed, that it's not the favorite for everyone. Lol.

I like "On and On", "FYI", "Apple & Cinnamon", "Dirty Desire" - but they are songs I could live without. If anyone else sang them I probably wouldn't like them.

It's an alright album. I guess I prefer Utada Hikaru and don't really have a need for her to become a big American star if her music in Japan is better.

But again, I have "This One (Crying Like A Child)" on repeat.

i'm currently repeating "Dirty Desire". i think it's my favorite off the album. xD
"Poppin'" is my least favorite, i guess. that or "Me Muero".

but overall, i have to say i'm quite impressed with it! i thought i wouldn't like it all too much, but it's not the case. i'll definitely grab a physical copy!

i can't really compare this to Exodus yet, since i liked Exodus at first, but then it didn't really stand the test of time for me...but i'll be optimistic with "This Is The One", haha.

Ok, the songs I love: Apple & Cinnamon, FYI
The songs I might grow to love/like: This one (this reminds me of Rihanna too much)
The ones I don't care about: Taking My Money Back, Come back to me, Me muero
The songs I can't simply stand: Automatic Part II, Dirty Desire, Poppin', On & On

As far as my opinion goes the album is a major flop when it comes to the quality of music and a true disappointment for her standards. I'll pretend that she released a double a-side single..

Oh, this album is a much better improvement over Exodus.

I like Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence / FYI, Automatic Part II, Dirty Desire (this is a wank worthy track l0lz), Come Back to Me, and On and On.

I really wanted to like this album, but, like, about half of it was pretty forgettable and made me LONG for "Easy Breezy", which surely says a lot.

That said, I liked A&C, FYI and CBTM a lot. Dirty Desire was decent too. Can't say the same for the rest. I kinda wish she had just taken the best tracks of Exodus, and the best tracks off this one, and put them all on a single English debut album, so we don't have to know that the duds ever existed.

Am I the only one who is going to wait until it's released digitally on the 25th, buy it, then listen to it? Because it certainly feels that way...

^Hah. I'm pretty sure CoriKaru won't be tempted. Too bad I couldn't say the same for myself. And it's the 24th

Also @ SURREAL: I'm not sure what you were trying to say but Hikki has pretty much always been R&B? Or are you talking about Utada? lol

I'm definitely not downloading it, neither is Corikaru. Like him, I won't even listen previews anymore. And I haven't even heard half of the previews yet.

Now for the wait... shipped today... xD

and note her official website has a "TOUR" part... promising?

Also, are the pics on her site the same as the booklet pics? that'd suck, because I accidentally saw 2 already before I clicked the screen away like a maniac *sad*
