New single MOON / blossom 7/14, 1st part of 3 single project [III]

^ Its pretty rare that a j-pop artist releases a single after the album is out. They are called re-cut singles. There are some, but not a lot. Its more of a western music industry thing. In japan, singles before albums 95% of the time.

I like have a whole fresh new album to listen to as well. It adds to the overall feel of the album. Don't like it when the album is full of too many singles that I'm already sick of listening to. And Ayu has been guilty of changing the overall sound/feel from the album between its first single release and album release (NEXT LEVEL is really guilty of this). When you make all the songs at once, it flows better.

With 3 (or 4) singles from Ayu, her next album is shaping up to be a long one.

I'm not sure why they chose this business model in Japan. It doesn't help promote the album for a long time, but on the other hand, it helps promote the singles.

Me, I prefer the Japanese model. After the singles you can just feel the tension building to a new album. Then, after that, you know you're getting something completely different in small chunks until the release of the next album. <3

I think Connected counts as a PV-from-an-album... sort of?

Also, I think CMs were enough in the late 90s and early 00s, so they didn't really need to make PVs if they had the CMs airing. It worked for A and H and a bunch of the album tracks from the albums before I am... right? (Like... people think of POWDER SNOW / ASFXX and probably think of those hooded CMs where snow is falling, or they think of A and its quadruple tie ups... haha.)

I kinda of agree but then I kinda don't. With Ayu, I'd said only her most recent releases have had that problem of not flowing well. Her pre-Secret albums are all very well put together and sounded like they had a clear vision in mind (well, maybe not m(u) but that album's awesome anyway lol). Then you have Britney who recorded tracks for her 2007 album months (and in the case of Gimme More: years) between each other and that turned out to be her most consistent album yet. Buono's last album had a very solid and consistent sounding tracklist as well (though you wouldn't think so with how different the singles were). So I think ultimately it just comes down to the artist and whether they choose to stick it out with their vision.

I've got this idea that the next album is either going a mini-album (a 2.0 of my favorite album <333) or something along the lines of My Story with like 17 tracks. So either really long or really short. lol Something about it is going to be "extreme" I just feel it. XD

I'm the complete opposite, I think NEXT LEVEL is the one that flows best, aside from GREEN, which doesn't fit too well on the album, but I love the song!

The interludes are also really great with combining the overall feel of the album.

I'd preffer blossom to have a pv over moon actually. but this is the first time in forever that she's had an a-side that doesn't have a pv.

also i consider connected to be a single (i know it's not) but i think the drizzly single makes up for it.

Sparkle didn't have a PV on the single either. I think the PV will come out later. Just a matter of when and how...

i totally forgot Sparkle didnt have a pv and i was not to happy.

Well.. considering Sunrise / Sunset cover was shot in front of a REAL ocean.. I'd say: Please use a greenscreen ayu!!

I don't mind honestly, as long as it looks natural. Not like it was shot in front of a cardboard print (S/S again, bad editing imho)

I don't mind the green screen at all as long as it's beautiful. MW and G/d were perfect imho. If it's natural though, a BB or fairyland type deal would be ideal since those were gorgeous as well.

Oh gawd, how'd I forget about NEXT LEVEL? lol

Yeah, aside from GREEN being weirdly placed after a dance track, that album was pretty spot on. The interludes led perfectly in the different "sections" of the album (and not to mention were amazing on their own). It has it's chinks here and there but out of the post-Secret albums that's definitely the exception in terms of fluidity.

(on another note, how come whenever I write something late at night I always end of contradicting/correcting myself less than 24 hours later? lol)

me too the title are really exiting . moon remind me of tsuki no shizumu and blossom of part of me and the bea's up cover with blossom in the back .

Yeah, but GREEN ruins the flow. What about pieces of seven? The whole album has to flow. If a song is completly out of place, then it doesn't flow. That's the whole point of a consistent album - flows from start to end. not start to middle and 3/4's through until the end.
