Omg number 1? If she can hold this for the week...that would be awesome!

Shame the sales aren't a bit higher, but better than nothing I suppose.

Mai is still at number one with 5,708.

7,512 + 5,708= 13,220

I was right about one thing. Sales this week were going to suck. Maybe they'll pick up tomorrow.

Yeah they are starting nicely. I have a feeling that they're going to pick either tomorrow or Saturday. I think Saturday we'll definently see a rise in sales since she going to be on Music Station. Not to mention Music Japan.

If she continues this way she'll get #1 but slightly worried because only a gap of 2k-4k for multiple singles and if she drops like she usually does any of them can overtake her. I hope we see consistency in sales

BTW, I listened to touch Me! for the first time yesterday. I love every song on the album, it's a great album. It's good that she was able to get #1 with it.

well, obviously it's a very beutiful song, but wana beats it by far!! I listened to it all the time in my car today

I'm glad it has so good a sales

I don't like wana to 1990s for me. Beautiful wins my vote.

It's great to see that she has pulled a Namie Amuro and regained popularity. I'm happy for Mai.

I wouldn't say she's pulled a Namie Amuro...the single is not selling that well. If she went against some tougher competition, she would not have gotten number 1. =[ Still, I'm glad to see her having a little recognition.

She may not be selling as much as Namie but she has achieved what Namie has. She got her first #1 album, her single debuted at #1 on the daily chart and while it did fall to #3 it did rise back up to #1. This I doubt would have happened if touch Me! didn't get #1 weekly.

If the tie-in was better maybe she would have gotten higher sales. Like PUZZLE/Revive, both songs were used as the theme song for Detective Conan, one for the movie and for the show and the sales for the first week was 29k.

I hope the tracklisting and the covers of the BEST album are going to be released soon.

It's 2 more weeks until the release date, and we haven't got anything about it yet. :/ Unless it's going to be pushed back or something?

The album isn't even listed on CDJapan yet, that's strange. Hmm...

I can't believe she probably lost #1 after holding it all week O.o how did GIRL NEXT DOOR outsell their debut day sales and get such a large increase?

^Maybe the drama? IDK what to think because a case like this happened with Takeshi Tsuruno he was suppose to get #1 but instead got #2. Maybe she got #1 maybe she didn't but at least she matched PUZZLE/Revive's sales.

So, I just checked her official site, there's nothing about the BEST album.

But I checked fan-net, and they have it titled as : Mai Kuraki BEST "MERRY MUSIC!"

I hope her artist name isn't really in the BEST album title. It just looks a bit strange I guess.

The release date is still July 1st, so I hope we will get some updates soon. *ahem CDJapan & her official site*.

Oh, and fan-net's description of the album is 10th anniversary BEST album.

Plus also, the "Beautiful" single has this sticker and label that mentions it is her 10th anniversary, so I guess her record company are really promoting that fact a lot.

I saw that too. I hope it's true. I downloaded her old albums, well the first four and I have touch Me!

I like LOVE every song on her albums and it's rare that I like every song on a album. I think my favorite album is If I Believe. But my favorite song from her has to be Stay by my side.

Maybe her record company have something special planned for the BEST album, so they will reveal the details at the last minute? Hmm...

They just better not postpone it.

I wonder if it'll be like A COMPLETE and contain all of her singles. That's a good idea IMO seeing how it is her 10th anniversary. Maybe they'll release it in December on the day she debuted if they don't release it next month?

She was robbed of that number 1! It was so close. But I'm happy she got number 2 (even though the sales for it were low for a new number 2)
