And wiki has rumours about the single being a triple-A, set to coincide with (GASP!) Koda Kumi and Ai Otsuka. If this turns out to be true, Ayu's career has a 50% chance of self-detonating.

Crazy... oh well, we will see, won't we? If it's true it'd mean we'd (probably) know about at least 7 of the songs on the coming album.

^^ it'd be quite a competition at the least if they all do release around the same time. I'd like to see it but it would be a bad financial move for all of them.

Avex have done a few weird things before, though their marketing techniques has obviously been successful, but I do not think they'd put their three top-sellers up against eachother, ever.

It'd be interesting to se nevertheless, but I think we'd see Koda at the top, closely followed by Ayu failing in her streak of #1 singles and somewhere behind them we'd find Ai.

^It is most likely not true, it is rumours, that someone tell you on this forum has about as much credit as if a random guy on the street would walk up to you and tell you, depending on how well you know the person

According to tabloids (which are well known for making up rumours or writing provocative stuff) they do not like eachother very much, but I do not think it has to be true. It might have been a one time thing that the tabloids chose to bring up, and feed, to make it look really bad.

and again there's no such chance for ayu vs. kuu. If avex doesn't wanna make the inner quarrel between ai and kuu, why would they do that for ayu and kuu (consider that they're the biggest artists in avex rite now).

Besides.. they haven't confirmed if JEWEL and 1LOVE will be the next single yet rite...?

If all three of them get pitted against each other, It'd be SO FUN. Here is what I predict:

Ayumi Hamasaki
55% chance of reaching #1 due to very high first week sales no matter what single she releases.
If she gets to #1: Koda's career will go back to "slump" zone. Ayumi stays in her position until Ai Otsuka gets enough popularity to get a big release. The excitement of Koda Kumi is because of the possibilty she might topple J-POP's invincible queen, Ayumi. If she fails, she fails at life. Ai Otsuka remains unaffected.

Koda Kumi
35% chance of reaching #1 due to usually moderate first week sales of her double A-sides.
If she gets to #1: Ayumi's career will be over. She'll be reduced to another Seiko Matsuda, continue releasing music but hardly being bothered with anymore. Koda Kumi becomes the grand new queen of J-POP. The new era of music starts, every single released by her gets to #1 until someone challenges her. Ai Otsuka remains unaffected.

Ai Otsuka
10% chance of getting to #1 due to lack of popularity in comparison to the other two.
If she gets to #1: Both Koda and Ayumi are gone. Ai Otsuka will be the new queen of J-POP, but she will not be an attention ***** like Ayu and Koda. She won't be as popular as Ayu or Koda during her peak. Just like a celebrity who stays out of parties and one-night-stands. Boring but safe. Good for the music industry though.
